5th Generation Subframe Connectors!!!!!

UPDATE: WE'RE AT 10!!!!
Dan is hoping that all 10 5th gen sets will be ready to ship out by next weekend!
WooT

Yep.
5th gen group buy is finally up!!
Same deal as the 4th gen group buy that is currently running:
"I have the honor of being able to offer the first group deal for Truax Motorsports.

There is no stage 1, 2, or 3.
This group deal includes the complete package, cross bracing and center support.
For this first run, there will only be 25 available.
They will be sold in lots of 10 at an introductory rate of $265.00+ $35.00 shipping.

I will be starting a list on a first come first serve basis... No PM's to get dibs.
I will add your name to the list.

If you have any questions please PM me... If you have any questions about what SFC's are/do, what it takes to install them, or anything like that, please direct them to this thread.
Please, do NOT post if you have anything negative to say.
I want to keep this thread as on topic as possible.

Again, there are only 25 available for this first run, and once the list reaches 10 people payment will be accepted at that point. After the first 10 sets have been shipped, the next 10 people in line will send payment and their sets will be shipped.

Please allow a MAXIMUM of ten days to ship. They will be shipped as fast as possible, but we just want to make sure that everyone is informed before hand in case it takes a couple of extra days to get everything together.
They will be shipped via Fedex and a tracking number will be supplied as soon as your set is shipped.
When you send your payment, you must include your COMPLETE address and telephone number.

For this group buy, paypal is the only method accepted. Please include the 3% paypal fees.

Do not post saying you want to be added to the list if you don't plan on purchasing a set.

Lastly, if you have ANY questions regarding this group buy, please PM me and I will answer your question as soon as possible!

Let the list begin!

No The LTB connects to the LCAs. This is welded to the underside of your frame. Stiffens up the chassis even more to keep the car flat in turns. LTB and sway bar can still be used.

So I actually have to get this thing welded to the frame? Wont it bolt on ANYWHERE? I mean it would have to, right? In the description it says there is no Stage 1,2 or 3...so I could still buy a StageII LTB and StageI LTB? Would it even do anything at that point if I were to buy this SFC? Thanks..

I need pics to see...I kinda get it..but just not enough. I did see the 4th gen SFC though..But didnt see any LTB's being used. Unless they are pointless ofcourse

Dude you need to research your info. The SFC also strengthens the chassie even more. Go read the 4th gen SFC review.

HENCE...why I SAID Would it even do anything at that point if I were to buy this SFC?

IT = the Lower Tie Bars

I figured that since it strengthened the chassis then there would be LESS flex would the LTB even be needed since there is a chance that there would be no noticeable difference..Thats what I was saying.

SFCs > LTB...

SFCs are welded to the long frame rails. No they cannot be bolted on. Yes they will help, especially with an LTB.

And Law: it's chassis BTW.

Early May I'll be able to afford these....wish I would have known about them sooner so I could have saved up a little earlier...

You just basically semi answered your own question. More strengthening of the chassis is better than nothing. So of course a LTB and the SFC will make a world of difference.

They do different things. The LTB stiffens the front subframe and steering section. The SFCs stiffen the middle and mid-rear unibody. They do not overlap each other and they serve different, yet complimentary, roles.

I would do it in a heartbeat, and I have the money right now, but I really have to be cautious with it right now...I'm still not sure when summer tuition is due, and our house is JUST selling in Texas (after 2 years, mind you) but I'm not sure when it's going to be closing. It should be in about two weeks but we'll know earlier than that, in which case: SFCs here I come!

do we have to wait for 10 to sign up before we can order? I'm assuming they're already made anyways, right? I have cash on hand and need to get rid of it before I'm tempted to spend it on something else

sfcs

Please wait until we have the full 10 guys signed up before sending any money. Blackmaxx96 will let you know when. It is also very important to designate if you have a 4th or 5th Gen car as there are minor differences and we want to make sure you get the correct set. We are doing it this way so we can make sure that we can keep up with the demand.
We will be working on the first 10 sets for the 5th Gen this weekend. To make 10 sets requires hours of cutting and welding. As time passes we are getting quicker at making them and learning a few tricks to make it easier. We really appreciate the interest and support.

Dan,
On the center hub piece of the crossbrace, are those bolts WELDED onto the piece? It looks like it in the pic, but maybe I'm seeing it wrong.....I hope they aren't, because I plan to try to mount the diagonal crossbars ABOVE rather than below the plates if it will fit (which it looks like it will), to increase ground clearance.

thoughts?

irish44j Yes, they are welded. I understand what you are trying to do. We thought that by welding them it would ease the install. When you email your payment please be clear that you don't want them welded and I think Sean can throw in a set that way. I know he tried to gain as much clearence as possible. If you would hit bottom, we think it is far better that the SFCs get scraped than the bottom of your car. 11 gauge steel is pretty tough.

sounds good dan. I just want to try it out that way just to see, so I'll let Sean know. I'm one of those wierdos who likes to tweak everything just the way I want it (you should see my modified stage 2 tie bar ) If you guys are making them this weekend, could you please let Sean know that I would like one with the bolts not welded (if it's not too much trouble). I'll be away from "the computer" for a few days....
