Cattman Header/Y-pipe System back in stock for 95-03 Maximas

The Cattman header/y-pipe system for the 95-03 Maxima and 95-04 I30/I35 is back in stock. Price is $859.99; the 5% maxima.org discount brings that down to $816.99, and quantities are limited (after we ship backorders). Consider adding one of our all-metal Maremont Metal'Cats (our FastCat) at the same time, its the best performing street-legal cat you can buy. Price reduced 10% from $259.99 to $233.99 if purchased with a header set.

If you're not familiar with the Cattman header/y-pipe system, this TIG-welded 304 s/s part will make 18-22whp on the VQ30DE and 22-26whp on the VQ35DE. Its a bolt-on install, including a basic installation kit, and we have O2 simulator circuits ($28) available to make installation more convenient in vehicles with CA/NLEV emissions (some 99/00 Maximas and I30s, all 01-03 Maximas and 01-04 I30/I35s).

Come and git 'em.

We take orders by phone, 520.575.6195 (Canada, AZ, HI, AK, PR) or 800.759.9920 (rest of US), and are generally open 9-5MST, M-F. Note that we're only open Monday next week - we'll be closed 30 Oct - 02 Nov while attending the SEMA show.

Hey Brian, it's Will. I got the MAF adapter yesterday. Thanks for the fast shipping. I'm going to get on the next batch of headers with the fastcat. The project is almost done and I'll need to open up the exhaust soon after.

do you have to have the y-pipe+ header or will just the y-pipe bolt on? Is the y-pipe a different size than stock...which is why the combo is offered?

Would you be still selling these in January or February because I have smog in spring 08 and California is not good for smogging with headers?

I think you've got the right idea... We frequently need to explain that since the only way that a regular performance y-pipe (one that was simply made to replace a stock y-pipe) would work with our headers would be if we made the header manifolds real short so that the outlets (that the y-pipe bolts to) are in the exactly the same position as the stock manifolds.

A design like that would have allowed y-pipe interchangeability, but it wouldn't have made any power (as another performance company discovered for themselves). Making the manifolds fit an existing y-pipe is like the tail wagging the dog. Instead, we designed the manifolds the way they needed to be, and then made a y-pipe to fit them.

BTW, the y-pipe in our header system includes design elements that are an advantage when used with header manifolds (but which would be unnecessary on a regular performance y-pipe used with the stock manifolds).

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Demand is still high enough that we run out between batches, but we'll continue offering these for a long time. That said, you might want to give us a call about the emissions issues, it may not be as complicated as you think. There are many cars out there with headers that have passed emissions.

We don't have any 95-01 y-pipes in stock right now, and it may be a couple months before we do, so no sale on those parts in the bear future.
