I'm loosely scheduling your torque link connector for early summer 2010, and it would be cool to buy it at Maxus.
NWP Engineering is not organizing this year's MAXUS like we were for MAXUS 09. The organizers for MAXUS commonly change hands and locations from year to year.

Since we aren't in charge of organizing MAXUS 2010, I don't know if we'll be there selling products. We'll know for sure as more event information is released in the coming few months.

Thanks for the bump. I'm glad everything is holding up well, even on your 400+ HP beast of a Maxima.

It's good to hear from you again Josh! I'm sorry, no there are not any updates. But this Engine Torque Link kit would be a VERY nice modification for anybody who races or drives aggressively. Right now, it's looking like the kit for the 6th gen (04-08 Maxima) won't be looked at until this summer and hopefully will be released by this Fall or Winter.

I hope you're doing ok.

Thank you!

The Engine Torque Links are currently on backorder. They should be back in stock by the first week of April. That's what we're shooting for.

Nope, sorry. We have one project ahead of that one right now (VQ40DE Frontier, Pathfinder, Xterra Spacers). Then we'll be able to take a look at the 6th gen Maxima. It will probably be another year before we'll have anything in the works as far as an Engine Torque Link Kit for the 6th gen Maxima.

Bump for a great product. And Happy Thanksgiving!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

After 5 months of daily driving with the Torque Link, I just removed it for Winter. What a shock! I completely forgot how soft and numb the car is without this engine brace. Going normal is, well... weird somehow. But this feels like the appropriate thing to do for winter driving, snows & steelies.

Aaron, I'm planning on having the rod powdercoated over winter.

And just this week, rroderiques77 polished his. It looks great! Here's a picture of his work:

Aaron, we still on the list for the 08's? I've got the traction rod kit ( http://racinglineperformance.com/sho...&idcategory=25 ) from racingline performance. Once your product is made, will this cause and negative pull or anything that would reduce the effort of the traction rod? What will this do or am i making the engine block to stiff by adding your product. Are these to products the same thing? I'am really anxious to get your product once it's made.

I would still like to design something for the 6th gen Maxima one day. Right now, there are a couple projects ahead of this one that will take at least a year to complete more than likely. The NWP Engineering Engine Torque Link is not to be confused with the traction rods RacingLine produces. They do two completely different things. Ours prevents the engine from moving while the other stiffens up suspension components.

To start off:

Installation:

Simple since I applied WD-40 to all the necessary bolts several times before I actually got the ETL. The only bolt that gave me some issue during the installation was the one in the middle bracket that is not used before the ETL goes on. It is right under the lower head of the coupler and was a tight squeeze to tighten but no biggie.

Review:

When I first turned on the car I heard a different tone in the car, not sure if it is me and anybody else has had this but the different tone was a good change. I might be hearing things but just wondering if anybody else had this same outcome...

The ride was enhanced in every way possible, I had a big smile on my face after the trip. I noticed less vibration when at a light and driving around, the turns were easier to drive, the shifts smoother, hardly any wheel hop from an aggressive take off, better control of the car on highway lane changes and all this combined made the ride more enjoyable. Like somebody else said this is the way the car should have come from the factory and I really think this will make a huge difference in track times!! I can't wait to see that difference!

Once again, Aaron has created a well manufactured, high quality product to make our cars better.

I recommend it 100%!!

Well worth it!!

-Jesse

Just wanted to show a few pics of my ETL:

But guyz, don't anybody think that the NWP ETL will transfer some of the engine vibration to the chassis?

A very little amount of vibrations is transferred to the chassis. You may feel this extra vibration in the steering wheel. But, most people leave the Engine Torque Link connected on the street. But if you are bothered by the slight increase in vibrations, we designed this Torque Link so that it can be removed in a matter of a few seconds. You can leave it disconnected on the street and only connect it up at the track, or you may decide to leave it connected all the time.

As of right now, we don't have any plans to put these on sale. But if anything changes, I'll be sure to post on Maxima.org.

We've never put this kit on sale since it's so new and priced so well at $160. The mounting brackets are a work of art. Especially the lower bracket which is made from ONE solid piece of steel without any welding.

Sorry. But I am seeing more and more 6th gen Maximas and 3.5 Altimas getting out on the track. So we'd love to make some kind of kit for these platforms in the future.

Aaron, what would it take to make the 6.5 gen (2008 - mine) torque link for the maxima's and the 3.5 Altimas that are being asked about? I know you had talked about sometime this summer, however what is needed??

Well, I already have test vehicles at my disposal. But, I won't be able to start any new projects until the current ones are complete and business slows down. Right now, I don't expect business to slow down enough until this Winter when the tracks close for the season. I'm sorry.

Yes, all the years between 95-03 are the same. They will bolt up exactly the same. The only difference is with the 4th gen (95-99), you can only install 3 bolts on the lower bracket instead of 4. But it is still guaranteed to hold up to any abuse you give it, even with one less bolt.

If you need an extra lower bolt, just let me know and I'll stick one in the mail for free for you.
