We don't have 55w ballast for the following reason

1.) 55w is only 15% more brighter than the 33w
2.) because of this brightness, it burns out the bulb and the ballast out faster
3.) 55w is 2-3 times more expensive than the 35w

Therefore it is not worth using or selling the 55w. Thanks~

Michelle- recent order of 9007hi/lo and 9145 arrived quickly and installation was a breeze. But one foglight won't stay lit. Swapped polarity and it won't lite at all. Going to swap ballast tomorrow to narrow down the problem to either ballast or wiring. How do I get a replacement? Does the defective part have to be returned first? Or do you send out a replacement first? Also, 5202 kit availabe yet? I have seen them from other manufacturers on Amazon. Thanks, Shane.

swapped around ballast and wiring adapters. Problem is actually the bulb. Never thought it would be that. How can I get a replacement? Do I actually have to send in this one and wait for a replacement? Or can you send a new one first? Hate waiting to have the whole system up and running!

I had a similar issue. You will have to mail the defect part back. They will test it, and if it's defective, send you a new one. You will be without a part for at least a week. That is my experience anyways. You will have to log into their site, submit a RMA type ticket, then mail it in.

Anybody know if these work with the way the 2001 dimmed daytime running lights are wired on Canadian models?

Has anyone installed this in a Gen 4 (95-99)? I am concerned with the "scattering" effect, and would feel better if I knew someone installed this 9004 on a Gen 4 and didn't have scatter.

I've been running the same set of Silverstars in my '93 Altima beater for 3 years but I think I'm going to finally try one of these kits. Too much drama it seems w/other vendors...

Has anyone bought the high power bulb kits and used the upgraded harnesses?

wow - what a difference

Got mine last night (9004 Hi/Lo, 5k), couldn't wait. Had to crack open one headlamp to clean out some garbage / haze from a busted bulb.

System really was plug-n-play, even with the relay. Had to jimmy the locking ring (for the back of the headlamp) around the harness, and took some time to make sure I put it where it didn't look all half-assed (put the relay in an empty slot in the relay box).

If I did it again, I would probably have gotten the bi instead of hi/lo. The hi (brights) is so wimpy in comparison, I will never use it again!

Good price, good install. Let's hope it holds up - feel better with the 2 year warranty.

HI

Hi/lo means there is two bulbs and one bulb base, so your low beam is HID and high beam is halogen.

The bi-xenon means both low beam and high beam is HID.

So there is a small metal piece inside the bulbs that uses electro magnetic energy to shift the metal to change from low to high changing it's focus point (near to farther for high beam)

These types of bulbs are called dual beam and only certain bulb types and certain cars have that.

It depends if you want HID for both high and low beam or just low beam.

Thanks!

Hi, i wanted to order a 9006 kit for my gf's 2006 chrysler 300. I've been reading the 300 forums and alot of ppl are getting flickering from hid kits while the car is on. The problem is solved by adding a capacitor to the wiring harness. If i order this kit does a capacitor come with this wiring harness?

hidextra.com,

Would the ballasts I got from you for my headlamps (9003) work for my fogs if I get the H3 HIDs? I am removing my HIDs from my stock headlamps because I keep getting flashed from oncoming motorists due to glare. I am wantign to reuse those ballasts in the fogs if possible.

Hi michelle,

I ordered a 9006 6000k kit for the chrysler 300 and asked for the capacitor. Hopefully all will go well.

I'm also wondering what kind type of bulb does a 2006 nissan 350z take. I already have stock hid's but i wanted to get a 6000k bulb. If you could help me out with that it would be great. Thanks.

I purchased the one you told me too so they must have shipped the wrong one. And sorry I haven't had time to take off my bumper and install them. I can assure you that they've only been out of the package for the 5 seconds that it took to realize they didn't fit. I have a 2007 Nissan Maxima and I was shipped 9006 6000k's. I'll look for the order number. thanks

HI,

9006 can be manually altered by filing down one of the base tabs to fit your bulb type of 9012, 9012 is very rare and most aftermarkets don' seel this bulb type directly.I believe I have told maxima customers that ther eis no direct fit for 9012, so if you want , you can file down the tab on the 9006 to fit the 9012, otherwise, if you want, you can return the kit for a 25% restocking fee if it's in new condition. please email me to info@hidextra.com with your original order # and full name and a copy of this message. Thanks~
