Cattman 6th Gen Muffler SALE
ONE TIME 6th GEN MAXIMA MUFFLER SALE - $349.99/pair
A limited number of stainless steel muffler sets for 04-08 Maxima are available at a sale price of $349.99/pair (previously $549.99!). Ceramic coating is available as an option in either a black or light grey finish for $179.99 (stainless tips are not coated).
These sets fit just like the stock mufflers and slip right onto a stock or Cattman b-pipe. Give us a call to order or ask questions at 800.759.9920 (CONUS exc AZ), 888.296.5153 (Canada and AZ) or 520.575.6195. No on-line ordering. We'll be closed 11-12 October.
Here's the story on these mufflers and why they're $200 off. They're good US-fabricated mufflers, as good or better than anything else currently available for the Maxima, but I've decided not to use them again because they're a bit louder than I like with a performance b-pipe (but nice and quiet with a stock b-pipe), and we saw some oxidation around the welds when used on salty winter streets and not cleaned regularly. We've seen a number of other muffler bodies that have done this (Stillen comes to mind, though the problem was more severe). We've seen no signs of rust on the Cattman mufflers in Southern California and other warm climates where the streets aren't salted.
So, as they are, they're absolutely perfect for use with a stock b-pipe on unsalted streets. If the customer likes their exhaust a little louder, then these mufflers will be fine with a performance b-pipe.
Adding a ceramic coating changes all of this. First, with a layer of ceramic over stainless, forget about rusting issues. Second, the coating will reduce volume and resonance. Third, it LOOKS SO COOL, just like the TUV-standard european mufflers w/ no headlight reflection off the back muffler panel; looks like the polished tips are floating in space. Plus, this ceramic coating option is a great deal, JetHot charges almost twice as much.
