Ok since I'm getting some responses here I'll give you the whole deal

I have two molders interested in doing hoods for us
one is DG Motorsports of Escondido CA (near San Diego)
the other is a Carbon Fiber molder who supplies Stoopidautoparts.com (dont laugh) hehe in Palmdale CA

http://y42.photos.yahoo.com/sdsr20de858

http://briefcase.yahoo.com/cewood2

both of these car's (Sentras)hoods are examples of the DG hood it is of good quality, designed for use w/o hood pins and are made of top grade Carbon Fiber. I've seen the green one in person and it is ALOT more impressive than my Fiber Images hood, no spots, pimples and dimples from the mold and the underside had a full Fiberglass frame. It fit and looked better than the FI hood plus they have a full 1 year warranty on the hood

The SAP molder promises the same high quality and will offer the same or better warranty than DG, the thing is is that I will have to go personally to them and look at the work they have done before I choose them over DG (DG does have a good reputation but they are pricey)

The style that will be focused on will be an OEM style hood. now if you guys want venting you have to get enough people to agree one ONE style of vent and you will have to be willing to pay 150-200 more a hood

The pricing of the DG hood will be $595 probably not much less if any
The SAP molder will give us a price of $450 if we get 10 people together, about 500 with 5 people

There will be a need for a donor hood (probably a NEW OEM hood) If we get this deal squared away we can figure out whos gona pay for the hood or maybe everyone can chip in a little bit of money to send them the stock hood.

the way it will work is that there will be a 50% deposit on the hoods before production starts so the molder can be certain we wont flake on him, and the rest will be paid when the hood is ready. Once the deal gets started it is expected to take 4-6 weeks before the first hood comes out and then 1-2 hoods each week afterwards

everything clear? ask any questions you wish (washer nozzle holes will be a no-cost option I believe)

I'd need five people... if you are interested then I'll repost all the info!
I'd also need someone in So Cal to donate their hood

I would be interested. as long as it is 500 or less. also need to have the fluid holes for the windshield.

id be interested only after others have been shipped theres and there is feedback that the fitment is good. even fiber images hoods have been poorly fitted (shltty mold?) and i dont want to have a hood that doesnt fit properly.

keeping an eye on you.
good luck!

the fiber images mold was focked from the beginning... they were a sorry excuse for $600 plus hoods

about donating the hood? I dont know how much of a discount they will give, but you will get the first one hehe

what might be a good idea is to pitch in on a OEM stock hood and send it to them, because any imperfections in the hood will... well be in on the mold so the molder needs to inspect the hood first... so if you have to SEND it it would suck big time, if someone donates it should be local (So Cal)

btw CHECK THE ORIGINAL POST I edited it and gave you guys the full scoop!

I'm talking witht he molder for SAP, he will let me go over there inspect his molds, his previous work-

Then everyone interested will have to make a 50% deposit on the hood thats when we need 5 or more people for sure!

then we will need a stock hood, he will make a mold, then he will make one hood, I will go back with a 5th gen guy (probably Hoon) and we will inspect the hood and if is satisfactory we will go ahead and he will make the rest of the hoods.

price will probably be 450 for 10+ people and 500 for 5-10 people
shipping will probably run 100 bucks a hood
