'Nother question -->

Now, are the 96-97 I30's the same as the 95-96 Maximas? And the 98-99 I30's the same as the 97-99 Maximas? The reason why I ask is because I have a 97, but the interior is just like my friend's 96 Maxima. What about engine components? Do I have the extra O2 sensor like 97+ Maximas? I just want to know what kind of performance parts I should look out for? Should I look for things designed for the 95-96 Maximas (like the OBX)? What about intake?

For the O2 sensor the 97-99 maxima's have on the B-pipe, just look under your car right behind the cat. It should be visable if you have the O2 sensor on the B-pipe or not.

I am not 100% sure, but I would guess that the 96 I30 is the same as 95-96 Max. The 97-99 I30 is sam as 97-99 Max.

An intake should not matter, I believe all 4th gen's are the same as far as that goes.

Dunno. Still not convinced. Maybe the engine is a 97, but the interior is still that of a 95-96. I have that ugly steering wheel and the stupid looking square holes for the drinks. 97+ Maximas has the better looking steering wheel and the flip cover for the cupholders.

As for the intake, the 97-99 Maximas has the temp sensor. The older ones don't.

My car was built 11/96, so that may have had something to do with it. I'll wait until it's warmer to check underneath the car for the O2 sensor. If I don't have it, I'm convinced that my car is built like a 95-96 Maxima, rather than a 97+.

I dont want to take over your thread, but since we are talking about I30 dates compared to Maxima dates ill post it. Is the ECU in a 1997 I30 the same as a 97 maxima? Id love to get a JWT ECU in my 97, so hopefully the ECU is the same as 1995-1996.

I would check the part number for a I30 ECU and one from a Maxima and see if they match up.
