Is this normal?

Just perusing ebay and I came across a 98 I30t. Take a look at the interior pic. Why is the steering wheel and shift ****/boot a different color than the ebrake and boot?

Was this normal in 98? I have a 97 and they are all the same shade of brown.

clicky

My 96 is the same color. Hmmmm...that is odd. I would not think Nissan would do that on purpose. There is a 98 or 99 down the street from me, I'll have to go take a peak.

Interior certainly doesn't look right but damn, check out that engine bay. What a disgusting mess.

Yeah, really. I mean, I'm heading down that route. Since I can't find a decent shift **** to match the ugly brown color, I'm going to go with black ****, boot, ebrake handle and boot. Eventually, I'd like to find a black steering wheel and trim pieces around the wheel just to get a complete look. Or, if SYCEFIRO ever lowers his price on the matching wood steering wheel, that'd be cool too!

The black gearknob and handle are fine, its the boots that really stand out. Have you considered taking your old boots into an upholsterers to have them make up new ones? They usually don't charge too much (less than new OEM anyway) and should have a matching colored leather.

mine is a darker shade like that as well. I bought a momo anatomico in burliwood shift ***.... 99% match to the wood trim.
I'll sell it to someone if they want it. $40 shipped.

Yeah, we had this conversation. I can't find a parts store that has Momos on display to compare. As for your's, can I see a pic along with the wood trim? I may be interested.

Thanks,
Andrew
