Anyone Done any SUSPENSION work on their 00+ I30's?

Hey all, wondering if anyone here has lowered their I's yet... Im thinkin a 1"-1.5" drop is well in order to fill up that wheel gap... Anyone here done this?

I just did a suspension switch this weekend for Maxspeeds which are supposed to give about an Inch and a half. Unfortunately my springs are tweaked or something because the back really didn't drop at all. The front is perfect (I'd say 1.5 inches if not a little more) and it really did wonders to eliminatite the gap. Ride is real nice too and I highly recommend the springs (my case with the rear is a complete anomoly and everyone elses drop fine). I still have wheel gap but I don't want the 'slammed' look so im happy. It looks much more aggressive and when i put the 18's on it I know it'll look even better (less gap too). I think the gap is about 3 fingers now or maybe a lil less (front).

I'll post pics tomorrow of before/after so you get an idea.

Btw, I really recommend you do the work yourself. If you don't have the tools you may not want too because it'll cost you about least 100 for everything you need (jack stands, breaker bar, torque wrench, sockets galore). It's honestly VERY easy to do, though a bit time consuming the first time you do it plus you get to learn all about your suspension and are better able to trouble shoot/fix and problems which may arise in the future.

ahh yeah sounds good, i definately wany a uniform drop tho, that would drive me nuts having an uneven front/rear. how much did it cost ya to get the springs? did you change the shocks too? and when you say it handles better, do you mean less body roll? less understeer? le tme know, im kinda curious about the whole thing...

I paid 100 shipped for the springs here on the org. They were used when I got them but only for a few months. My rear end is high and it does bother the hell out of me which is why I'm going to cut a coil from the back. Also my springs came prewrapped with some pretty heavy duty plasticy stuff which was wrapped around every progressive (the top tight ones) coil. Since those coils essentially sit atop each other when the car is off the jacks the wraps become spacers of at least 1/4 of an inch so I also plan on removing some of the wrap and only doing the very top coil with something a bit thinner. I figure with those two things I can gain about a 3/4 inch more drop in the rear which should even it out. Though I may even need to cut a second coil as well..we'll see.

I put on GR2 struts as well and I'm very happy with them. I read a hundred threads before I installed the suspension about ride quality, etc and honestly..I notice very little to 0 difference in the ride quality as compared to stock. Yes, I do notice a few little bumps but i stress that it's probably the placebo effect that im feeling because I feel I "Should" feel bumps so my mind tells me I do. If anything I feel like I have more control over my car and the car drives more aggressively. Not so much in turns, etc but overall. My mom just got a new Mercedes E500 and now my Infiniti drives more like that than a lexus when I got it new. You have a slight feel to the road and everything isn't so loose and soft.

I cut my bump stops during the install and I've yet to bottom out. I even have a very steep driveway and havent even scraped.

Handling..I'm not really sure yet. Ive yet to take a turn at 50 but I plan on it eventually. Obviously the lower center of gravity is going to help but if you really wanna stop body roll they make sway bars.

I'll have pics up tonight. You'll notice the huge difference in front/rear height but it's only temporary. Honestly, I recommend maxspeed springs over any other. And for the price you can't beat it.
