I was wondering if all 5 spd I30s are vlsd or just regular 5 spds. I know the I30t is lsd correct? I just purchased a 5spd out of a 96 I30 and I had the guy read the trans code off of the firewall to make sure it was lsd. He read it and the last number was "V" hense lsd.

 

No not all 5-speed I30's have VSLD. Look here at www.nissannews.com

If you look at a particular year I30. You can see that vsld came with certin package options. The touring package automaically came with vsld. It would have been possible to have a basic 5-speed I30 without VSLD. I would think it is very uncommon though.

Everyone on this board with a 5 speed i30 that has spoken up has had a VLSD. Everyone. When we talked about this six months or so ago, there were several non-touring i30s (mine included) that all had VLSD.

Non touring 5spds are very rare, but so far all that I have come accross on this board have VLSD.
