Are the any gains on the I30 to having a front strut tower brace? I had them on the front and rear of my 95 prelude and I hardly noticed a difference. From experience i've found this is a pretty worthless mod, but is it different with the I30? Opinions appreciated

I definitely feel a difference. It's not going to make the car handle like a Ferrari, but there is improvement.

I noticed it most when making lane changes on the interstate. Much less of that "loose" feeling.

I also notice it helping in hard corners.

I figure for around $20 you can't go wrong though.

I noticed a difference when I put mine on. Well worth the $30 I paid from eBay. Not a dramatic difference, but a little firmer and tighter steering. A rear sway bar should help out a bit more and of course there is always springs & shocks.

Will a standard Maxima bar work, or do I have to look for I30 specifically?

(pickup the car tomorrow, so I can't even look at it right now)

I noticed that it made the ride *slightly* harsher. Not annoying like, but noticeable. I have a Stillen one, too. Looks pretty.

Luckily, I bought it used from another org member for $115

I think they're talking about the Stillen FSTB. Major dough for that, not worth the pricve compared to those on eBay unless u want Stillen everything or something.

ever look at a Stillen? Yes, it's overpriced, but compared to a $12 one, it looks like quality. Very well made.

I think I paid about $30 for my bar...

Can you tell a difference? Depends on how you drive... If you are the type that like to whip corners and dart in and out of traffic... you will feel the car grip better... You definitely feel the difference when the car is lowered...

I would say that it has more practical uses than just Auto-X.
I noticed mine on freeway on/off ramps the most. I would notice a lot of play in the cabin of the car. Particularly in the drivers seat. You could feel the torsion even in the chair you could feel it. I went with stillen because I know someone who had their FSTB snap in a turn and the change in the geometry of the car just enough to help him enter an understeer into those yellow barrels filled with sand. So if I wanted a more sturdy unit that wouldn't fail. The cheap hollow braces are pretty flimbsy.

That bar on ebay looks like a thin piece of aluminum.
