Intermitten Tranny leak, any ideas???

For just over the past 4 months my 98 I30 has had the oddest problem, it seems to have an intermittent tranny fluid leak that just follows no regular pattern. Sometimes it leaks a very minute amount, and sometimes up to a quart. During the 4 month period of time for about 2 months it didnt leak at all. I have put it up on a lift to try to find the leak to no avail, has anyone else experienced a problem like this with their I30. I'm worried now because it leaked a lot last night.

When you say it leaked a quart, how much time did it take to leak that much. Look at the park nuetral switch, I have heard that is a common problem.

Search the 4th gen forum for "park neutral switch". You should find plenty of info. That may not be the problem, it's just a guess.

You may also want to get a haynes manual from a auto parts store.
