No you don't need HID. But what you need depends on what is included when you buy them. Required will be an H4 bulb and harness for the headlight. The other two stock lights can be used.

Since your new...and untainted...here's some wise advice. Buy the Cefiro lamps and stick with the H4 bulb setup that it comes with. Buy yourself some good bulbs and enjoy your car. Like Mike stated above, you will need to convert your harness over to accept the H4 bulb. You will have to splice in the H4 connector in place of the 9004 connector.

Here's a picture of the difference between the two connectors:

You're supposed to be able to buy the connectors here:

Hey, one thing you need to know that if you planned to get the cefiro one piece headlights certainly you will need H4 bulbs with high and low function in the same bulb, but if you get HID H4 system you will loose the high function, but there is a system of HID that provides high and low function through magnet on the bulb itself, where when you press the high beam the magnets on the bulbs act and gets inside and through the reflector in the bulb you can get the high effect. CATZ are a good system there is also POLAR type good quality. The good thing about this system it will look great on the cefiro headlights. Great match.

For the headlights speak to apple_sa@hotmail.com and tell him I sent you to him

check out www.paradox-systems.com that's where I got mine. He doesn't list them on his website, but he can order them for you. His name on maxima.org is "maxmojo".
