I removed mine easily, but the stripe wasn't done at the factory. I just peeled it off. It took a little time, but it did look better once it was off. Some places can steam them off. I did use something sharp to get it going. Try a sharp piece of plastic. That should work on the stripe, but not on the paint.

I had the painted on pin stripe. It was ugly tanish brown on my dark blue car. I had the whole car repainted.....without a stupid pin stripe this time!!

Mine was the stick on kind that was put on when the car first left the factory. I didn't have too much trouble picking it off with my finger nail on a pretty warm day. The fact that it was hot outside made the big difference, any left over sticky stuff, I just cleaned off.

any of you guys think that could get it compounded off. It seems to have been hand painted on.

you can probably compound it off with an electric buffer. I was able to get them off my car with brake cleaner, although I wouldnt necessarily recommend that. I found that it was harsh enough to take off the pin stripes, but not strong enough to hurt the clear coat. Good luck!

the compound idea really sounds like the best, but if that doesnt work id stay away from acidic like substances that would hurt the clear coat

just take it to a body shop. I had my painted strip removed for $50 and there are no marks what so ever.

i personally think the gold pinstripe on the forest green or whatever color our car has adds a nice touch, maybe thats because of the little gold sparkles in the green tho...eh

If it is painted on def go to a body shop, if tape hair dryer and if you have a really tough part try 3M trim and adhesive remover spray.
