Question regarding door locks
My automatic locking and unlocking door locks aren't working. I'm referring to the mechanism that locks the doors when you place the car in gear and unloks tham when you remove the key.
I've looked around the forums but all I have found is information pertaining to the "Autolock" feature. I'm not sure if the two are related in any way. Perhaps someone on this forum knows.
Is there some relay or fuse that controls this feature?
car is a 1999 i30t. TIA

Yeah, It kind of puzzles me as well. Last week I took a drive with a co-worker who has a 99 i30. I was very shocked when his doors locked in drive and unlocked when he turned off the motor. I also assumed it was something aftermarket as he had purchased the car second hand. However, he uses what appears to be a stock Infiniti remote to control the locks. Based on this I just assumed that it was a feature that wasn't working on my car.
It sounds like this might be some custom wiring work on the part of an alarm shop or something. I'd really like to investigate this as I think its a great idea.

You have a T? Maybe it doesn't work with manual transmissions. I have a '96 I-30t, and no such feature. I"m not sure I would want the doors to automatically unlock, anyway.
If the doors are closed and the passenger side door is locked, all doors lock. There is a master lock button on the driver's door. Other than that, it's the standard remote control locking set up.
