Anyone switch their OEM 1-disc HU for an OEM 6-disc HU?

Anyone switched their 1 disc HU to a 6 disc HU? I have a 2000 I30 and in the process of getting a 6 disc Bose HU from a 2003 Maxima. I talked an infiniti parts rep and he told me that the I30 and the I35 have different wiring harnesses. Is he right or just full of it? It seems to me that the only problem I'll have is getting the vent panel from an I35 to make it fit and maybe the top panel. Also Ive heard of some issues with the 6 disc changer, any know the problem-free model #? Thanks in advance for any replies.

It might indeed have different wiring harnesses. I'm sure if you got ahold of a wiring diagram though, you could easily overcome that.

I know that lots of maxima guys have had trouble, but I've had my car for at least 18 months and used the changer religiously (with CDRs) and have had no problems at all.

Yeah, since this is coming out of a max im not to sure I want to jump on it just now. It may have been removed, BECAUSE it has a problem. Thanks though for the response.
