Accident, pics, need damage estimate

I let my mother borrow the car today and look what happens (she's ok) She came to a light and couldn't stop. She said the car skidded and hit a Honda SUV which had no damage at all. Anyway, the hood, housings for HIDs (lights themself work fine) and possibly the radiator and bumper are damaged. The car is going into the shop tomorrow and I was wondering how much it would cost.

Ouch...sorry to see that!

You should PM kalbundy...he had a VERY similar front end collision and had it repaired...can't recall the cost though.

But, while you're at it, you should get the I35 grille put on there like Kal did as well. I think I remember him saying the I35 grille cost the same as the I30 grille so the ins. co. didn't balk.

Sorry to hear about that, dude. Someone recently backed into my car and crunched the hood. It wasn't as bad as yours, but either way the hood needed to be replaced. I didn't replace the headlights or grill, but the bumper and the support braces behind the bumper as well as the foam all needed to be replaced. It came out to like $3000 in damages which included paint and labor. Insurance covered the bulk of it. Since it was a hit and run (I wasn't in the car - it was parked in the street), my ins. co. had to pay. BTW, mine is a 1997, so your's might be more $$$ since it's a newer model.

Hope that helps.

Im sorry. You hate to see something like that.

Not to sound like a vulture or anything, but if the insurance pays for new headlights would you keep the originals an sell them to me. I would like to use them for parts.

Who is they? And they are probably full of ****. Take it to a different shop. There is a decent shop between W and X and east 17th street. Ask for Vova, and say Dennis sent you. And another one close to Ralph ave, in canarsee. I have a few friends there. The damage cannot cost that much especially that its black. No blending. They can usually match black easily.

The damage is actually 5900. Hoods cost a lot. Anyways, insurance is paying for most of it. Thanks for the recomendations, but the car was already taken to a shop on Sunday.

BTW, I don't need new HIDs, only the brackets were broken.
