Hello Infiniti Owners! I have a '97 Maxima and I'm trying to complete my OEM woodgrain collection. I have been told that the Maximas did not have the climate control or the clock piece in OEM woodgrain. However, I was also told that '96-'99 Infiniti I30 DID and can be interchangeable with the Maxima. Please post pics if you have OEM woodgrain (96-99 I30) and let me know if they DO fit in a Maxima. Thanks a lot.

Are the climate controls all automatic in I30?

 

Yes, as far as I know, the climate control is automatic in i30 and some Max (GLE and SE)

 

Do you know which one would fit into '97 Maxima and if I can make it work since I have manual climate control?

 

I think either will fit together with the automatic climate. Let see what other people think.

 

Both of those climate controls pictured will fit into a 97 Maxima. The 97 Maximas that did come with auto climate control came with the round temp up/down buttons but the other one will also fit. The problem comes with connecting it to the various sensors used to regulate the temperature. Someone recently converted a 3rd generation Maxima from manual to auto climate control so you might want to read up on that. If you did have auto climate control the outer panel that is wood on the I30 is just held on with snaps so you could easily replace it with the wood version. Most people will say it is not worth doing due to the cost and work required but good luck to you!
