96 infiniti i30 clear corners/tails
ok guys i read the faq on making the clear corners but i still dont understand it fully. i really dont want to mess up my car. can you guys help me out. this is what i got so far. i take off the headlight, heat it up with a heat gun, take out the orange plastic, ?put a peice of clear plastic in?, superglue it back up, put it back on, and viola i got clear lights? can somebody please post a guide for a 96 i30, or help me out here?
I'm not sure that procedure is for the headlight or the corner light for that matter. It applies to the taillight only. But, for the most part, yes, that procedure is correct. Contact Tyant. He's selling Cefiro tails that are clear and are for the 96-97 I30s. You have to pay a couple of bucks, but you save yourself the headache.
alright i tried clearing my lights but i encountered a problem. when i was taking the headlights off, there seems to be a screw that faces the fender side that i cannot get out. there is no room to fit a screwdriver in there or a ratchet key. can somebody with a 1996 i30 who has done this procedure help me out. i can get all the other screws just not this one. i could easily get it if i took the whole fender off but that would be way too much of a hassle. there is maybe .5-1 inch clearance between the bolt and the fender.
There is no reason to take the headlight out, so I am assuming you mean the corner light. The corner your having trouble with just pops out. It is not a screw, it's just a clip. Give a nice firm pull, or use a screw driver for leverage to pop it out.
Be very careful doin clearing the front corners out. Once you have it apart the orange is tuff to remove. It actually has to be broken off.
