any I30s have a VQ32DE?

I dont believe a VQ32DE exists but 2 people I know have VQ32DE engines in there I30s. One has a 5spd with LSD I30 and he said he does not have the same engine as my 98 Max but he has a 3.2L VQ32DE with 220hp. The other person said he has beaten a 5spd Maxima with his mom's auto I30. Is there any such thing as a VQ32DE? Is the I30 VQ30DE engine tuned different then a Max?

There is no such thing as a VQ32DE. Sorry but your friend is a moron.

95-99 maxima VQ30DE
96-99 I30 VQ30DE

Exact same engines and drive train.

true, the only other engine there is for the max/i30 that he could have gotten mixed up with is the vq35 he may have thought its a 3.2 but its a 3.5 255 hp engine so i dont know where he got his info.

Maybe you are thinking of porting and polishing.

Boring out the cylinders does increase the displacement of the motor. Thats pretty much what Nissan did to make the VQ35... Well... I think

The 220 HP numbers are from the 5th gen VQ30DE which have the variable intake runners. It was still 3.0L, however, and was only available in the 5th Gen. It was also no faster than the 4th gen due to the increased weight...
