Cefiro Parts

Hey guys, I noticed a lot of inquiries on Cefiro/I30/I35 parts and optional accessories (Mostly genuine nissan components, some aftermarket). I have access to some of those (except performance/racing parts) and can help you out but there's a problem: I'm a dumbass in the shipping and freight business process. I haven't got the slightest clue how to ship those parts to you. If you can help me out I can help you out.

Available models: A31 (limited), A32, A33

Thanks all.

Pardon my ignorance, but where are you located? I'm not sure what "NA" refers to...

If you're international, you can use your country's Airmail, or EMS.

No worries man.. NA stands for Not Applicable. Hehehehe. I'm from the Philippines. The Cefiro, I30, and I35 are fairly common here so there are good sources of parts available in the market. Just want to help you guys out on hard to find or genuine parts unique to Asia (we use japan spec parts)

Haha, gotcha. I can tell you of some things I'd be interested in:

- LED Mirrors of some sort (I've seen some on the Cefiro that differ from the mirror shells available here for the Maxima)
- Any kind of LED tails available there?
- Eyelids
- And the thing I want most - an installation kit (dash kit) for an aftermarket stereo. Has to be able to fit a DIN size stereo and fill the void where the OEM CD player/changer/cassette player would be if removed.

Thanks,

John

1. Sorry but power-signal-LED-mirrors are available only for SUV's. LED tails are not available here.
2. Eyelids are available but they're made of fiberglass and are from a 3rd party source. I used to have one installed on mine till I got bored with it. I can have a carbon fiber eyelid fabricated for you if you wish.
3. We have 2 kinds of stereo mounted on A32's and A33's: 2-din and 1-din. Therefore, mounts and kits are available for each stereo type. To fill the void, there is a genuine 1-din box with lid (black) that fits the void perfectly.

Hope that helps. I'm working with some members in trying to find the best way to ship the parts. Hope you can give us a good lead on this. DHL is one option but it may be expensive on your part.

Thanks for the reply!

I'd be interested in some eyelids (preferably carbon fiber, though fiberglass would work too) for the A33 pending pricing and pics.

I'm REALLY interested in the dash kit, however. I need something for the A33 that will hold a 1 din stereo. I've seen some kits on Cefiros that integrate the vents and hazard light into it - I'd need something that fills the void ONLY where the OEM stereo resides. Will that work? I tried a US Maxima kit here but it wasn't wide enough.

As for shipping...I don't expect it to be necessarily cheap. Check EMS with your local post (if it exists). DHL would be fine with me as well, I've liked using them here domestically. For shipping quote purposes, I'm located at:

I noticed you have an A33. We have a boxed lid to cover the 1-din void left by a 2-din stereo. You place it just below the stereo. I did that with mine. I used to have a 2-din stock Sony system. I upgraded to Alpine 1-din indash CD. I purchased a box from the 1-din installed A32 & A33 units. There is also a 1 din-stereo mount available for this purpose. As for the box, it is an original nissan component. As for the lid, I'll check it later. You'll get it unpainted if it's fiberglass. I prefer friberglass over carbon fiber.

Sounds awesome. Any chance you have any pictures (dash kit and/or eyelids)? I'd love to get my hands on that dash kit asap. Thanks again.

Do you have a place to host pictures? If so, upload them there and then link to them here in the thread.

Or you can send them to me and I can try to host them myself: metaorbit[at]comcast.net

Thanks all.

Hey man, can you possibly post a list of parts you can get for the A32 i30/Maxima?

If you could list the prices in Philippine Pesos excluding shipping, just so we can get a rough idea that would be cool.

cefiro8701, He's mentioned that the dash kit is a genuine Nissan part I believe him too, some of our A33 Maxima (US I30/35) came stock with a single DIN stereo, so they had to fill the gap with something I'm trying to find some pics on the classified websites, will post what I find.

Mr Cefiro:

Good day.

I have several points to clarify to you:

1. This is not a business. I'm an employee and I'm not in the business of selling parts whatsoever. I do this because this is my hobby, because I have a passion for cars.

2. READ MY THREADS. I refer to certain parts as Genuine Nissan and others as 3rd Party or OEM. I don't hide anything. I will but them from Nissan, which will be very inconvenient because I will be paying for them first, if ever.

3. I would NEVER recommend to anyone things I would not put in my car. I am very particular with quality. It took one car dealer to paint my Civic more than 1 year because it didnt pass my quality standards. Quality is my main concern.

4. Doing this will not give me any gains especially financial except for the good feeling of having helped others.

5. So, having said this, I dare you to compare your car to mine and see which has better quality of installed components. FYI, most of your "Quality" parts are made here, locally. Unless of course quality to you means manufactured elsewhere but the Philippines or Asia for that matter (parts from Genuine Nissan parts are from Japan and Taiwan).

The reason why the Philippines remains to be a 3rd world country is because of Crab Mentality. Meaning Filipinos not trusting and hating other Filipinos; pulling them down as they move up. This my friend is typical Anti-Filipino attitude. You call people who hate other races racist. What do you call people who hate their own? This is good case in point.

Again sir, doing this has been very inconvenient to me but I do it for the love of it and to help fellow enthusiasts. If you don't need my help it's ok. If you want to warn them, it's ok. BUT DON'T SAY YOU ARE DOING THIS BECAUSE I AM FILIPINO OR BECAUSE THESE ITEMS ARE FROM THE PHILIPPINES! Remember, you are too and you came from the philippines too. But then again, maybe you're right. Some originating from the Philippines are not of good quality.

Have a nice day sir.

LOL, I believe you guys too...I'm just worried that our US dashes are constructed a little differently than yours.

For example:

My US dash looks like this:
- 1 piece unit is stereo ONLY
- Does NOT include vents and hazard light switch in that one piece

The Maxima dash that I could find with a single DIN stereo came from an Australian classified site:

Now, I can't be certain, because I've never seen it in person, BUT, it appears as though the vents and hazard light switch are integrated into the 1 piece stereo unit. If that's the case...then I won't be able to use this, because it won't fit.

That's all I'm trying to figure out. Thanks!

Meta,

you are well on your way to making the most diverse car on the org... and all with factory Nissan parts from around the globe.

You should make your own eyelids. It really is fun! I made a few different styles a while back but never painted them because the shop was trying to rip me off. Now I see that Paradox has a factory matched, flex paint kit which i would love to use for painting these lids. Unfortunately I will be moving back to Colorado in about a week, so I probably wont have a chance to do this any time soon.

Have you considered making your own dash piece as well? I have never done anything like this, but I wouldent think it would be too difficult with some fiberglass. You could make exactly the shape and color that you want! You could get the general shape by using the factory piece and then cut/grind it to the correct size.

Dont know if you want to do that much work, but I think it would be fun.

LOL. Thanks.

I've seriously thought about widening out the existing kit, heck, I even owned it at one time, but several things have stopped me from doing so.

I would need to build out MANY layers of fiberglass to get the thickness I'd need to match the contour of the kit and the dash. That would take forever. Secondly, I don't have all the tools I'd need to do it. And finally, I'm living in an apartment now, and hardly ever at home, and consequently don't have a very good place to work anymore.

As for the eyelids...welll, same reasoning really.

I'm sorry a got a bit carried away there. Anyway, here's my observation of the pictures above. Yes the picture on the bottom left is the same as we have here. The hazard switch is integrated in the a/c vent but it is seperate from the stereo unit. Actually what we have here is a combination of the two pictures but more on the Australian model because we share a majority of parts.

Try these sites...

www.nissan.com.ph (Phil manufacturer)

also

www.nissan-smg.com (Phil dealer)

They have nice pics both in and out.

Yeah, the FG dash would be kind of a lot of work, but the eyelids are easy as they could be!

I spent maybe an hour getting the correct shape and cutting them out. Only things you need is some poster board, magnetic sheets w/ adheasive backing, a pensile, some scissors, a paint kit from Paradox, and a little time.

I made some badass ones that curve around the circular parts of the high and low beams. Unfortunately I do not have time to paint them. Maybe I could put a pic on my site to show the general shape. If anyone wants

I couldn't find very good close-up pics of the stereo on either of those sites, but it does seem similar to the Australian pic above.

Now, just to be sure, the trim kit that would house the aftermarket stereo does NOT have the vents attached, right? Forgive me for being repetitive, I just don't want to get my hopes up, LOL. Thanks again!

I'd love to see a picture of them if you don't mind. Also, are you saying you fiberglassed the eyelids too?

Ooops sorry. I forgot we just launched the new cefiro so the old closeup pics are gone.

Anyway, I have pics but haven't been successful in posting them. I think I'm not allowed to post pics or something. How do I post them?

Meta, I wouldn't think the vents and the stereo unit woul be attached. The stereo unit will most likely be attached with screws hidden behind the vent unit, which would be accessed by pulling the vent unit away from the dash (which is probably attached by those annoying clips, heh). Wouldn't make sense for the vent and stereo unit to be one, as this would mean either the whole thing is held in by those little clips (unlikely, a stereo is probably too much weight for those clips to support) or the whole thing is screwed in somehow from the back making it near impssoble to remove (unlikely as well ). So, with that, I think it's safe to assume they're seperate units.

MaxCefiro, to post pics, you need to upload your pics to a webserver. Once you've done that you need to enter the url to the pic like this:
[/img]http://www.webserver.com/pic.jpg[/img] (remove the / in the first [img] tag )

Wonder why your Nissan is keeping the Cefiro alive, it's been discontinued in Japan, and the Maxima version of it here has been replaced with the new Teana design

I can assure you that the a/c vent is not connected to the stereo unit. The pictures are quite decieving. You can remove the stereo and replace it with whatever type you want. That I can assure you too. What I don't think will work is to use a cefiro c-cluster finisher on an I30/I35. But standard DIN accessories will fit right in an I30/I35 or any brand of car for that matter. That is the idea of using DIN standard: to ensure all accessories (i.e., stereo, equalizer, boxes, a/c control unit, etc.) will bolt perfectly in any brand of car. I know a person who has a cefiro a/c control unit installed in his Galant VR and a friend bought a cefiro DIN box and placed it in his Civic. If it's DIN, it fits.

You're right about the Teana. Unfortunately, they released the A33 only in 2002 so I guess we have to bear with it till 2006 or 2007. Teana due next model change. I heard they tried coming out with the Teana this year but it turned out that only the A33 facelift that was approved. Only 2 models here that are up to date: x-trail and 350Z; the rest are a bit delayed.

Matt & Max..thanks for the info. I do know the concept behind DIN standards, but I think I know where the break down in communication is.

Based on what you guys have told me, and the pics that I have found, the black plastic trim does indeed fit the DIN accessories, and is in fact separate from the vents. However, the problem is that that black plastic piece does not fit the ENTIRE width of the dash occupied currently by my OEM head unit. It seems that the wood trim is separate from that black piece. Problem is, I need something that reaches from side to side in the dash. Look at the pic of my dash above and you'll see what I mean.

Thanks for all the help though.

FYI - this member page shows a good close-up of the dash you all work with (helped me determine what I've somewhat concluded): http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/618106/2

I'm interested in Cefiro parts... but I dont know what directly fits into the A32 American spec I30s... I would love their head lamps and tail lamps, even their gauge pod are sweet as hell!
