Interesting...HID 194 bulbs
Power consumption may be a little high but yes it should fit.
Let me know if you get good result out of this bulb.
I might try one for myself.

I checked. Mine (Polarg M4 Super White) has the same wattage (5W). You shouldn't have any problem having the one in yours.

Great, thanks again! I may have to check this out. I put these in my parking lights on the front of the car and they look cool. I need to check to se how bright they are though. I want the guages to be super white ya know?\

By the way, I got my 97 guage in the mail today and am working on it tonight. Wish me luck!

Having super-bright dash bulbs ruins night vision.

OK, well let me ask this then. I keep hearing people say they want the white dash lights like the new Lexus have. What do those look like? Does anyone have any pics or can you explain it to me? It seems like having pure white numbers would be cool looking.

Their gauges are EL, which are white but do not have a blinding intensity so as to not impair night vision.

There's a reason why most people use LEDs to change the color behind their gauges rather than colored bulbs.

Any light bulb, such as the one you showed, with a coating on it is going to put out LESS light than the stock, CLEAR bulb. Think of it this way - look at at light through a pair of sunglasses and then through a pair of clear reading glasses - which is brighter?

I fear that your gauges might be noticeably dimmer with those, or any bulbs with a coating.

yeah, that makes sense. Maybe I will just use the stock white bulbs. I guess I was just hoping to find a clear bulb that puts out a pure white light (not necessarily a brighter bulb, but whiter. As close to the HID white as possible. Do they even make a 194 bulb that is whiter or close to HID?

Not really. Best bet is to go with LEDs...though they'll probably provide pretty uneven lighting.
