I loved my J30, hand me down from my sister, just like this I30 is a hand me down from my bro-in-law, I've been privilaged enough to have Infiniti's most of the time I've driven, my first car was a Chevy Berretta, god rest her soul, only domestic I ever drove that I liked, sold at 180k on the odometer. but yes, I loved my J, she was a bit sluggish, too bad she didn't have the DET.

It had the DE, just not the TT.

I thought the last I35 was a damn good car but it simply was not on too many buyers radar.
Damn 1sicklex, you are like in every car forum on the internet. I have disagree/agree with you on your statement though. Yes the I35 was not selling compared to the competition, but I don't think that is what really canned the I35 line. The lexus es300 and Acura tl, sold way more units yes, but Infiniti really wasn't doing anything with any of their cars the last five or so years. And actually, the I30 was infiniti's best seller between 96-99 of all models. The simple fact is, infiniti didn't know where to position themselves in the lux market. They were going after lexus and acura for awhile and acura and lexus still out sold them. Actually I think lexus was more of infinitis competion easily by looking at the both car makes. I30 vs ES300 front wheel drive, J30 sport vs GS300 rear wheel drive, Q45 vs LS400. Lexus had the LX470 but Nissan didn't have a V8 suv to remake. Anyway, lexus still out sold infiniti, and I think infiniti had to look for another direction to go in. Not till 02, with the introduction of the 03 G35 did infiniti actually position themselves with a real player. Now infiniti has made a name for themselves and now are going after german rivals that lexus still has not been able to accomplish even after bring out the IS300 to fight the high selling 3 series of BMW. Actually, when I think of Lexus I think of boredom, or something my parents and grandparents would drive or females. Now that infiniti is recongnized as a german fighter, I think infiniti has focused more on the German rivals than other japan car makers. Thus the fx45 and 35 fought the BMW X5 3.0 and 4.4-4.6 and now the M45-35 to fight the BMW 5 series. If you look at Infiniti's bigger picture, the front wheel drive I35 is way out of place and out of it's league. I see way more 3 series crossover to g35 than I see 3 series crossovers to TL's and ES330. I wouldn't even compare the G35 to the acura TL or the ES330 and I don't think infiniti is to worried about those cars anyway. Infiniti has attracted the german car buyers, and I don't think the I35 was positioned to attract german car buyers. Anyway, I like the I35 and I am sad to see it go, but it's not like I am going to run for a TL or ES or AUDI for that matter. I like the direction that Infiniti is going, and in a year or two, I will gladly like to be a owner of a 2006-07 M45.

Anyway, I was thorodredcls in the acura-cl forums, the guy who first raced a gs400 and you called bs, nice to see you around.
