How about ebay? I got ones off the seller called thelittleguyent more than a year ago, but there seem to be several sellers you can get ones from.

Surely those from a maxima would work? I replaced my 97's with some autozone ones and they've been sufficient. They clearly don't have the push of my 00's OEM ones, but they do hold the hood up as long as you fully extend it

yeap, autozone or advance auto parts have them. They are way cheaper than the stealership.

(I don't work there neither get money from them)

uh.. i have 170k miles on my ride... those shocks are strong. I thought the weight of the hood alone would be easier to push the hood down, but no you gotta actually push that baby down a bit till the weight of the hood does the rest of the work.

they must have been replaced, or you're not spending enough time under your hood

Is there any shocks that are cheaper than $50? The only ones I found so far were at Napa and they were $50.

Autozone carries shocks that go around 20 bucks a piece. I'm not sure if it's good though cuz I bought them once to replace the original ones but they didn't even last 6 months. Plus, it's not like I've spent that much time under the hood within that period. Perhaps, mine were just duds.

Thanks for the heads up. Mine are good for now (115K miles) but at least I know what I can count on.

Now I gotta take the interior apart (headliner & all trim) this weekend to replace a $2.00 part that broke in the sunroof....

Oh well...still love it.
