Hey, I've been going through hood struts like crazy.

Have any of you had trouble with hood struts? What do you guys use

For those of you who have had to change them... (my stock ones are just now starting to fail at 151k o.O) How in the HECK do you get the ball sockets loose from the ball hubs on the stock hood support struts?

Contact Redmax, I believe he still has some hood holders for sale. It beats replacing the hood struts and getting your head busted...

Even I need to replace them :-) They were not good right from 96k when I bought my car.

mine are okay in the summer..? hehehe .. yea i put a wrench on something next ot the hood suport aganist the strut mount and hood to keep it up...

For all those who have replaced their supports, how do you get the factory ones off?

use a wrench of the correct size, look in the haynes.
