Rear Badging

I am assuming the rear I30 badging is easily removeable... no holes to be filled or other? How about the Infiniti logo in the center? Is it stuck on without holes as well? Has anyone done this? Pics for thoughts??

Thanks.

No bolts, no holes. Take Fishing Line or Dental Floss and a little bit of Goof Off or Goo gone and you're set.

By the way, talking about rear badging, can anybody take a shot of their Black I30 (A32) like a straight on shot capturing the whole rear, or does naybody already have one? LMK. Thanks.

Reason is, I have a plan of what I want to do with my rear as far as badges and placement goes.

Do it, it looks nice, I dont have a black one but here is a picture of mine... oh yeah, its a little easier too if you heat up the emblems (heat gun or hair dryer)

Good idea Mike. I was actually thinking of taking the closer placed/smaller "INFINITI" letters off the G35 template and placing them somewhere on the trunk as well. Thanks for the picture too.

PS: I hope you didn't go "flossin" in a mall parking lot! Hehe... j/k

I've got a big, gold G35 grill badge and 4 gold wheel caps, if anyone wants them.

hey, guys.
earlier today i tried taking the i30 off the back of my car. i bought some dental floss and goo-gone and followed the directions (on the back of the bottle) but i can't get it to come off all the way. the emblems themselves came off but the sticker part is still stuck on there.
also, the guy at the store told me that, after i use goo-gone on my car, i should wax the area or it might discolor. any truth to that?

Yeah i could see that happening, because its a very strong liquid. But i use goop off to clean everything on my car because it works really well.

Get a plastic scraper and soak the 3m tape with the Goo Gone or Goof Off, then start scraping away at it. It should come off and yes, if it seems to be discolored throw wax on it.

Just get a rag, squirt a hell of alot of goo-gone and just press and hold the rag onto the emblem area, let the goo-gone get absorbed by the sticky stuff, then wipe off with hard strokes. This almost sounds pornagraphic!

If goo gone doesn't work try some light weight rubbing compound from your local automotive store.

damn I love the Benz style, that looks mighty tight. Infiniti should setup their badges like this. Makes it looks alot more better.

I am also about to shave the back, quick question though. What is the difference between the G35 grille emblem and the G35 trunk emblem? $18 is the price of the trunk emblem so I know you were referring to that, but I was just curious.

Also on a sidenote since I can't PM yet, i30ds, do you have any closeup pics of your lights (like, even closer than your sig)? I have to make a decision if I want to get the clear or smoked cefiros, and I simply cannot decide yet. My car is beige like yours. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks -Kyle

I dont know what the difference is, but the rear is what I ordered. The front logo could be attached to that grill with screws, so I got the rear because I knew that it would come with adhesive on the back.

Since you cnat send PMs yet I would assume that you cant get them either. So here is probably the best pic I currently have.

That is all I really have at the moment. Sorry, I dont own a digital camera. Since you are tan like me, I would actually recomend getting the smoked lights. I am currently planning on switching to those myself. Because our cars a more lighter in color, I think the black would add the perfect amount of offset to the car. I put 17 inch gunmetal rims on for this reason as well...but dont get me wrong the chrome style head lights are still a damn fine choice. You pretty much cant go wrong.

Thanks i30ds, great pic! The main thing with my smoked/clear selection is that I want the car to gain as much resale value as possible, whether that be with ease of sale or increased worth. Both look so good though that I wonder how much it really matters. My car will hopefully look like that if I can ever find a replacement hood and bumper the color of my car. Small accident a while back...trailer hitch was just high enough on the suv to let my hood know who was boss.

Alex, here's the link to the exact one:
http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...04&catalogid=2
Not sure what shipping cost is, but I'll know when I order tomorrow.

I shaved the rear of my car today. The INFINITI letters came off great, but the I30 letters and the Infiniti emblem left every bit of their sticky stuff on the car. It took repeated soakings with the Goo Gone and lots of scraping with the plastic scraper. About what I expected, though I think a sharper plastic scraper would have really helped. If there was a better way to do it, please don't tell me, otherwise I might shoot myself! The labor was definitely worth it, everyone seems to like the look.

The grill emblem has a large platform with long posts that snap to the grill, whereas the trunk emblem is basically flat.

See photo of grill emblem below:

Anybody know where I can get the whole G35 Rear End Kit. I want the Larger Emblem and the G35x emblems. I could even use the "INFINITI" letters as well.

A thought on what to do with a spare G35 logo and a 1/2 empty can of black spray paint:

I got it from Simon at sycefiro@yahoo.com. I get all my JDM stuff from him 9headlights, tails, gauge rings, that ash tray, etc...). I suggest emailing him and checking out what he has got.
