warpspeed Y-pipe?

ive got a 2001 i30 and looking to get a little more out of it without sacrificing the luxury feel/look. Sleeper sortosay. Ive been looking at them for a while and was wondering if anyone else has installed one on there i30. What about the o2 sensors? do the have a place to go on the new pipe? thanks

I have not installed a y-pipe but I have researched them. BTW the y-pipe is considered one of the top engine mods, and are not street legal (but was is now adays?). If you plan on installing a y-pipe, make sure that when you take it in for emissions testing that the car is fully warmed up. Both the warpspeed and cattman http://www.cattman.com/ y-pipe come with o2 sensor bungs. Personally I'd go with the cattman system http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....attman+headers. From what I have read the warpspeed o2 bung locations do not require modification of wiring harness length but I am not sure if it is true for the cattman (one I30 owner at cardomain.com stated he had to modify the o2 harness length so that it could reach the sensors ). You will need to identify if the car is CA emissions equipped. Check your emissions label in the engine bay there is another way to determine this but I forgot the website which explained it. I have also read that some people have had the service engine soon (MIL) light activate after installing the y-pipe.

For more info. do a search here. This was taken from the Gen 5 maxima forum section. http://search.yahoo.com/web/advanced...r=fp-tab-web-t

If your looking for more perfomance improvements I would recommend a cold air intake CAI and a trans shift kit http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=388804. It makes the shifts quicker and increases the longevity of the transmission by reducing fluid temps and reducing clutch pack wear. If you want less body roll when turning you might want to get a rear sway bar as well http://www.stillen.com/sportscars_de...id=1934&page=1. Good luck!
