Not sure what the problem could be
I cant tell weither its my tranny or something or my maf, or coils. I just had the vb mod done and had the silinoids changed. The car shifts fine, Its just when im going slow the car doent seem like it wants to go. If i floor it, then it takes off and goes but before that it wont. What the hell is going on man..i really dont understand... to better explain myself the pedal is almost half way down. and it will not pickup fast enough but when i floor it it will go and it will shift fine. Whats the beef??? any idea???
perhaps this mod has made the tranny operate in too high of a gear for the speed you are going. This happens to me some times as well. For example if I am driving at high speeds in 4th, and I slow down to take a tight corner, tranny will shift down into 3rd all the time, but if the corner is really tight and I have to slow down even further, the tranny should shift down into 2nd so I have more power coming out of the corner, but for some reason it is reluctant to do so. So, I end up coming out of the corner at like 10-20 MPH and the car feels like a fuccing slug in 3rd at that speed, and only manually shifting or using the gas pedal to put the tranny into 2nd bumps me back into the sweet spot. Many auto guys in the 4th gen forum have discussed this horrible lack of down shifting as well. This of course is one of many reasons why I am tearing that thing outta there and droping in a 5spd.
Sounds like the transmission doesn't downshift when it should. I too did a VB mod but do not have this problem (used the transgo kit which came with new band servo springs that are suppose to shorten shift overlap time) . It could be that you need a new TCM. The TSB suggests both the solenoids and TCM be replaced for erratic shifting transmissions. If the TCM doesn't resolve your issue then it may be a couple of other things, like TPS or the drop resistor. I wish I could be more helpful than just sending you off on a wild goose chase. In my opinion these transmissions should have a different first gear ratio (actually they should be a 5spd auto). Just compare the ratios to that of M45 5 speed auto, their 2nd gear has the same ratio as our first.
