Pic of my 02-I35

Got my ride a few days ago and just wanted to show you. I don't plan on doing any mods to the car as of yet besides tinting. However, any suggestions would be welcomed.

Nice ride man, yeah don't mod it out. Yours looks just like mine except I don't have the sport package.

I agree, its better to leave yours as is. I only wish I purchased the sport model rather than the base model I have.

other than the spoiler and side stills, what is the difference between the regular "I" and the sport model?

Sadly, badging on the interior floor mats, a slight drop (its only like .5" in the front but you can see the difference in appearance), VLSD, stiffer shocks and struts and lower profile tires. Nothing really "sport" about it on the I35 like it was on the I30.

Not really much of a drop. If anything, the ride height difference can be attributed to the slightly smaller overall diameter of the 225/50/17 tires that come with the sport package and its included 8 spoke wheels. And the the difference in suspension is debatable. Consensus seems to think that the rear springs are slightly stiffer and that the struts are the same all around.

Sport package models also got VDC, or at least mine has it.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the VDC, thanks Meta. With the suspension, there has to be something dramatical, because the base I and sport I really have different rides. The base I (the one I own now) is really cushy and floaty. I had a loaner sport model I for about a week and I got to tell you, the Sport I is really firm. (It seems to stick to the pavement a whole lot better also.) I loved it, the only time it was a nuissance was when a disturbacne was in the raodway (pothole, rough street, repaved surface roadways etc.)

Odd. Not saying you're wrong, but when I had a loaner base I35 it didn't feel like it rode that much differently to me. Must be Knoxville's ever-present road construction..

ok something is really off here. i've been in other I35's and they ride like gqmac2 describes, cushy and floaty. my I on the other hand rides real stiff, and it hits potholes etc. really hard, and handles corners better (before addition of G35 rims), but my car is a regular I, not the sport.

Did you order your I35 from the dealer new, buy it new of the lot, or buy it used. I am asking because if it were on the lot, or used the dealer could have mistakenly thought you were getting a base model when you really got a sport model. It happened to me, I purchased mine (someone decided to return it after having it leased for 6 months), because the dealer listed the vehicle as a sport model. (There were sport series floor mats in it.) It was not until after I found out about VDC, the firmer ride, lower height and VLSD, that I realized my car was not sporty at all. (All of which my vehicle don't have.) So I guess what I am asking you is does your car have VDC and VLSD?

on the right side behind the steering there is an area where a switch goes. on the base models its the TCS (Traction Control System) on the sport models its VDC (Vehicle Dynamic Control) Oh and on the sport models the steering wheel is completely leather (no wood inserts) and the gear shift handle is leather also (instead of wood)

Thanks MaxedOut and King. I was a little depressed that no one was giving me feedback on my car but at least I got some replies now.

Kind of funny. The infiniti dealership which sold me the car told me it was the luxury- base I35 model that I was buying but I knew it was the sport package. Tells you how much sales reps know. Knowing this, is there a significant price difference between the two and did I make some bucks off of the dealers oversight/stupidity??

I plan on getting the 3M coating done tommorrow for the front end as I noticed that the paint chips quite easily. Kind of funny when comparing prices as two places quoted me about 500 including tax and another was 300 (ziebart). I did verify that both shops are going to use 3M and not some cheap brand. However, I think I that the other shops were trying to gouge me just because I drive an infiniti.

Keep the feedbacks coming people. I need a ego boost

LOL.....I've had many Infiniti salesmen tell me that my G20 is the EXACT SAME THING as the Nissan Sentra.

I can't say whether or not you got a good deal, but if you feel like you did then why would you need an ego boost?

As for the ride difference, even though the tire sizes are only slightly different, maybe the tires used on the sport models have a much stiffer sidewall?
......just a thought.....

I know this is purely subjective (and no offense to anyone) but I personally think the non-sport rims look WAYYYYY better. Not only are they classier looking, but they are "cleaner" looking and fit the car better. Just my opinion.

Nope... there really isnt any point until I finish the swap... Ill post one at the end of summer. Also, I will have to use NHRA conversion to produce an adequate time since I am up at 6000 ft.

When I ran last summer I pulled a 16.4 at 6000 ft. so after conversion factors that is like pulling a 15.3... Thats not bad, but nothing to be proud of really. Now once the swap is done and I get that gutless auto tranny outta there, I should be well into mid if not low 14s... but we will soon find out.

This Is To i30ds: The other thread got locked So I'll respond here. My engine is the (VE)30DE, it only came in the '92-'94 (SE's) the other engine used is the (VG)30DE which is used in '89-'91 SE's & GXE's as well as '92-'94 GXE's. Also the only 3rd Gens that came with the VLSD & Variable Intake Manifolds, were the '92-'94 SE (5-speeds) The Auto VE's never got those options Mine happens to have both

Nice! I got a friend who has a white 94 SE 5spd with Bose but cloth interior... he doesnt really know too much about it though. He just put some tint on it, keeps it clean and drives it like a regular person.

So the VE got VLSD and VI... a long with 2 extra camshafts, 30 more hp, variable valve timing, and a timing chain right?... Now thats what I call an SE package.

Is the timing chain a dual roller type or is it a single like the VQ? I think I read somewhere that the VE has the dual roller type. I also think I read that you guys got courtesy lights on all 4 doors and full independant rear suspension instead of just lights in the fronts and a beam multi link rear like the A32.

One bad thing I heard though is that VTC can be prone to wear rather quickly which can cause the engine to sound like ****... It is happening to my friend right now!

Everything you said is correct. Yes, it's the dual roller type. It has 4 courtesy lights, & yes the VTC Tick is a nightmare. I dont have it YET cause of my replaced engines low miles. Ya it's definentely worth it to get a '92 SE over a '91 SE!!! A full bolt-on VG will barely keep up with a stock VE. I remember talking to you when I was in Colorado for 10 days. I was gonna go to that meet. I'll actually be moving to Colorado in a month and 1/2. Not quite sure where yet, but I'll know for sure in a few weeks. See You There!

Um, you took a Maxima, put a bunch of fake Infiniti **** on it, you pretend it's an I30. That right there is enough to make me laugh into tears. No, it doesn't look like a Kia, it looks really stupid and CHEEEEAPPP. Kia is the word that came to my mind when I saw it. "I'm the one with the fake @ss car?" Okay, gutless, yeah 255HP, pretty gutless. Most V6's of today, three years later, still don't match that output. Stock, yes also, I'm not gonna take a 2002 I35 and turn it into a rice mobile so the 16 year olds with Civics can be jealous. Run of the mill, maybe, but that's fine with me. The first day I got it last summer I went to wash it. The guy in the parking lot next to me in a 540i was like, "Man that car is gorgeous!!" He spent 5 minutes gawking at it. I was flattered. I doubt (you or any of the other HATERS) would get that attention in your cool I30 with lights and intake and Kmart grill.

Jesus, I've said this before, there are people like you who like to mod out and gussy up their car, and that's fine. I like people in Bimmers and Lexus's and other Infinitis to give me props. Not cavalier and neon and lame people like you. Take your "97 Maxima dressed up in an I30 disguise" or whatever the hell you call it and shove it up your a$$!!! BTW, so many people don't like me on here.....where are all the other I35 owners telling me how stupid I am? HMM? So stupid for leaving a nice Infiniti exactly what it is: A nice Infiniti.

Let's not forget Ive been on this since 2001, wayyy longer than the majority of you kids.

You have got to the stupidest mother fuccer on the face of the planet... MY CAR IS AN I30... ALWAYS HAS BEEN. That ''Kmart" grill is OEM you stupid
sh!thead. If you could take your conceded head out of your @ss, you would have realized that .

This thread needs to be locked to prevent you from making a fuccing fool out of yourself even further.

The sad thing is that you actually live to have some limp d!cked f@ggot that drives a BMW gawk at your gutless bullsh!t. That makes you a limp d!cked f@g fuccer. 255 hp and you could not even dust a 95 Max AUTO.

And the difference between you and I is that I dont give a fucc what some BMW or Lexus or cavalier or civic thinks about my car... you are so concerned with what other people think it is fuccing sick.

You really need to realize that no one here likes you. Look at this thread, look at the other thread. You say the stupidest ****. And the fact that you have been here since 2001, and yet you continue to say the most moronic
horsesh!t is probably the saddest thing ever. I my 1+ year here, I have learned more than you did in your 4.

No, it just proves my point even more. I don't "live" for that. All I was saying was the fact that a guy with an '01 540i sport gawks over my I35, not more than 10 minutes after I drove it off the lot, is pretty impressive. You know, someone who actually knows about (nice) cars, that a 540i is a real "machine", unlike the kids with civics and neons and cavaliers that think your car is all hot ****. Your car is nothing. The pepboy add ons that you've gussied up your car with have done nothing but make 15 year olds stare and depreciate the value even worse than it already is. Bet you couldn't even get five grand for your car.

No, I was merely pointing out the fact that regular people; you know, people with other nice cars, not POS NOPI cars, notice mine. The kids that meet every week at the Kar Kare muffler center would like yours. There's lots of Civics and 240's and Cavaliers for you to impress. I'm sure they'll love your grill

I love my car for MY reasons. However I'm not gonna NOT be proud when other people in other REAL nice cars are impressed with mine.

First of all I don't give a flying f*ck what people think of me on here. Oh no, people on an online forum don't like me, hang on while I go slit my wrists. Secondly, and for the final time, you are nothing but a jealous hater. Which is the same case for most of the others that "don't like me".

horsesh!t is probably the saddest thing ever. I my 1+ year here, I have learned more than you did in your 4.
You know NOTHING about these forums. These forums are nothing like they used to be. You can't even post a race story unless it's on a weekend. You used to be able to ask a question about anything and get a valid answer almost immediately. Now it's filled with totally different people, and, sadly, the people like you who are truly pathetic.

Damn! I dont know what worse, you sucking the BMW owners d!ck, or him liking your pu$$y. I can believe you let what others think about your car be the criteria for which it is judged in your eyes. Face it, there is nothing performance about your car at all... Hell the same year Maxima came with more performance than you. You drive an average car... nothing special at all.

Im not calling you a name, I am stating a fact... you are a limp d!cked f@g fuccer. Look at all your posts, you pop shots at everyone and everything. You really need a life.

Regular people drive subarus or camerys and you dont know who the fucc I know for one mother fuccin thing. Unlike you I dont try to impress anyone... I do what I do for me and no one else you should try it some time.

I dont care how the fucc you feel about your car, I could care less about your reasons. But face it, you thrive off the attention from balding fuccs with 'real' cars, that have no brains and no *****..Those are your people so I can understand why you try to get your pu$$y licked by them on a regular basis.

Thats fine, but I am gonna let you know that everybody on here thinks you are a fuccing joke. YOu have made such a fuccing fool of yourself it is really pathetic. Everything from your obliviousness to your falsified stories that no one on here bought for a minute. But you should go slit your wrists... It would save a lot of people form your annoying bullsh!t. I really feel sorry for the people that have to deal with your @ss in real life. And for the final time, I am not jealous of your plain jane guttless bullsh!t. No way, no how, what so ever.

You are such a joke... youre car is NOT fast... I really like how you made up that story about the 'race' with the S4... real smooth. Read the other thread that started this... You did start this, and now you are going to have to deal with it, so why dont you sell your car, hang yourself and call it a day.

I dont give a fucc about what you think I know about these forums. I enjoy helping others and receiving help in return. The bottom line is that you know nothing about cars in general and thus have no credibility when taking to anyone about anything car related. And you having the dealer change your oil just solidifies that fact.

Call it whatever you want, a dude in an '01 540i Sport complimented and gawked at it. Like I said, I doubt your pimped out Pepboy mobile would ever get attention from any *Credible* car owner. I don't judge it on what other people think. It's really not all about what other people think for me either, it was just kinda flattering when someone driving the car of my choice stops me to tell me he likes mine.

Yeah, look at them, they are all me basically saying, "Hey, take your riced out I30's and kiss my a$$!" Because I actually do have a life, you know my life doesn't revolve around track slips and changing my own oil like a redneck.
And your pathetic attempts at insulting me make me laugh all the while showing me no wonder you're 22 and drive a piece of ****. Grow up, finish college (if you could even get in, you seem that fu*king stupid), get a real job, and GET A REAL GODAMN CAR!!!!!!

No, I love my car for my reasons. And the balding people that have no brains and no *****? Um, a 540i Sport is a damn good purchase. It ruled back in it's day before BMW went to ****. And "trying"? I wouldn't call it an attempt. My pu$$y gets licked everywhere by about everyone. I'm sure you're used to the Kia's and Mirage's licking yours, but wait till a bad a$$ 540i owner does. Oh wait, excuse me, any average mature adult would look at your car and shake thier head. My mistake. Nice grill!

Great, let them think that. I don't give a fu*k. I'm not gonna go manic cause people don't like me because I don't waste my free time at the track or adding stupid things to my car.

And yes, you are jealous. If you wern't you wouldn't be so hostile. You honestly telling me you would not trade your whatever-you-wanna-call-it mobile for my spotless Silver on black I35 with 40K on it? (that you could mod out to your hearts content) Riigggghhhtttt.

Yeah it is. Fast enough for me anyway. Wanna race? And for the last time I didn't make the godamn story up about the S4. He pulled away from me, not by that much. All I was saying was that a 340HP S4 should be able to DUST me, not just pull away, in ANY circumstance. And he didn't. That was all I said. I realize an S4 is faster, but I should have been eating his dust; I wasn't.

Excuse me mister high and mighty, I've been reading Motor Trend and Car and Driver monthly since I was ten years old. I know cars, which ones are good, which ones are bad, which ones have the best engines, and which ones have the worst. I'm a car encyclopedia. Sorry I choose to stay clean and go back to the office while I take advantage of Infiniti ownership as they change my oil. Just because I'm a professional and choose to live like one doesn't mean I don't know anything about cars. Still wanna argue? I don't care that people don't like me on here. Where are all the other I35 owners telling me how full of it I am? Hmm? Like I said, you belong here with all the cool car clubs. You can show off your neon lights!!!!! HAHA you are sooo pathetic.
