New Infiniti Forum

So there's this cool new site called infinitiowners.org and it's got forums for pretty much all types of infinitis except the i30/35. I pmd the admin guy there and asked him about making a i30/35 forum and he said if there's enough intrest he'll make one. So if any of you guys would be interested in joining over there (while staying on the org too, of course) just reply to this so i can let him know there's enough ppl. It would be cool to have a place for infinitis like the clublexus forum, so just let me know if you guys think it's a good idea. Thanks guys.

I also went to the site and posted a response in the feedback section. I still luv the the .org but, it would be nice to be able to chat with other infiniti owners also.

well if they are going to make a forum for us over there dont u think it will be just us (same people) from here over there? it sounds like a good idea but i think the .org has the upper hand with us I30/I35 owners and will get more people here no matter what. and anyways we have the 4th gen forum too so i mean theres not much more we can learn over there that cant be done over here

Well as a new infinite owner I found that site before I found this one. As much as you guys like this site I can't really agree. It's not a very welcoming type forum. I mean what kind of forum allows you to join and not create your own post or makes you pay $20 to use the search function. Anywho I think there's good info here, but if the I30/I35 is ever going to have a true community of owners I don't think a sub-forum on a maxima site is the way to get it done. Just my .02.

BTW count me in....

Not really, I think people who in general run into the other site by accident or by word of mouth, might be interested in seeing that there is actually a section for the I30/I35. I know for a long time, I was looking for a forum specifically for the I35 until I was recommended to come on the .org. Should be nice!!!

P.S. I don't think you guys should post links to other sites, IMHO. I don't think the admins here would appreciate it. That's why I never mention the "Other site" name on the .org. Kind of a R-E-S-P-E-C-T/courtesy thing.

I just checked out the site it seems the only car with less aftermerket support then us are the m45, fx45, and q45. It seems like theyre just starting to see how frusterating the aftermarket battle is.

Btw im also interested to see i30miked's attitude about this thread???

Finally got it up! I think it'll be good to have the i30/35 ppl over there too. New ppl who just got their 'I' would probably be looking for an all infiniti forum. But we definetly dont need to leave the org behind, this place is great and has helped us all out soooo much. The site also looks awesome...hopefully we can get a big following of infiniti ppl there like club lexus...see you guys over there.

Doesn't bother me at all and it would not bother the admins here or any other moderator. It is not like we are making money running this site, as if any other site is competition.

I will hop over there and check it out.

I keep meaning to do one. I would not mess with a cardomain, I hate those sites. I have 100's of pics of my car through it's different stages and I have posted most of them. The org is kinda my cardomain site. But yhea, I need to have a site.

Yeah, I saw that and was like 'I wonder if he tried to fool some people'. I cant imagine how much of a pain it would be to really get one to work.

Those are some really great pics though! I particularly enjoyed the mevi and turbo install pics. The engine swap was cool too... seeing both engines side by side like that... How did the original get damaged?

Back when I was NA I shifted at 7200 rpm's (102 mph) into second gear instead of fourth. Bent up my valves most likely...never tore the motor down to see exactly but it was all kinds of messed up. Still got the motor sitting in my garage.

Damn! Well, depending on how bad it is the bottem end is more than likely salvagable. Since it is out and accessable you could drop in the stroker and then just use the heads from the good engine... It could minimize down time. But I guess you probably have your hands full tunning your boost in all.

I have thought about doing something with it, but realistically I am not going to ever need more than the stocker is gonna give me.

There is an undercurrent that exists on Maxima.org which comes across as making us seem like outsiders. From the responses I got to my classifieds, I cannot tell you how many members kept asking me if what I was selling would fit a 4th Gen Max.

This after explicitly telling them that I had to order parts made for 4th Gen Maxes because I30's were not listed.

It's like, "Oh yeah....that I30 is just a gussied-up, rebadged GLE and not really any good for any serious modding like the Max."

The posts on the 4th Gen section are getting so-o-o old and redundant. How many times can one talk about what oil one uses, or gas mileage, or suspension, or clear corners, ad infinitum.

I think that we are a different breed of owners, though, and recall I mentioned something to that effect in an old post.

I have also come to accept how different is this car from my previous one. In my previous Max, I drove it the way I wanted to, but with my I30, I now drive it the way it wants me to. It's told me, "If you learn the keys as to what makes me run, I won't let you down when you need me."

Does anyone else feel that way?
