Will a 01 VI work the same as a 00? Dumb question but I'd like to know. Found one for sale.
Thanks!!

yes, but the VI's between the Fed-spec and Cali-spec are different with the black-box that controls it.

MEVI was a option... Don't want to lose the low end though.

The low end loss is insignificant compared with the custom modifications needed to get the 00 vi to work. Plus the thing is made of that plastic composite bullsh!t which will make your engine run a whole hell of a lot hotter...

I cant imagine the plastic composite bullsh!t raising temperatures that much. And it probably keeps the intake air temperatures a tad lower for better power.

The only bullsh!t about the DE-K manafold is the damn cup on the power rod wearing out. JB Weld is your friend. Haha.

I was talking with Zack342 and this is what he told me after he got into a lengthy thread about the 00vi vs the mevi... I cant remember the specifics. Ill try to dig it up.

I just swapped this manifold into my 4th gen and trust me it does not make the engine run hotter. After drive my car for hours in the heat I could place my hand ontop of the manifold and it will just be warm (well maybe not warm but I can keep my hand on it and not burn it like if I was touching the valve cover).
