Does anyone know the differences or have numbers/specs on the two? Also would struts/shocks from the touring trim be more capable of handling lowering?

 

Only the rear springs are stiffer... everything else is the same. Basically, anyone who bought the car brand new and paid the extra $1000 for 'sport suspension' got ripped off big time.

And NO stock shocks could handle lowering... You need aftermarket.

 

at least you get better looking wheels (on the 2000, pre 2000 i30t wheels are all ugly)

 

Inifniti made some really ugly wheels in the 90's. All I30 non touring models had hideous wheels. The 2000 and 2001 non touring wheels looked like hubcaps. And the real early Q45 wheels looked like pie pans. It took Infiniti a long time to learn that the wheels make the car!

 

Are you sure that's the only one difference between the sedan and touring model on A33?
Also, i'm trying to find out which one i do have, because my i30 was sold as Nissan Maxima SE in Europe... Thank You!

I looked this up on everythingnissan awhile back and they do list different struts for the rears.

 

Yes I am sure. And if you drive a Euro Maxima SE then your car is the equivalent of a US I30t. The botton line is that the difference between touring and standard suspension is minimal... Anything aftermarket, like Illuminas, will put it to shame.

 

The Touring model adds:

Sport suspension
Nicer (17") wheels
HID headlights
LSD

 

Well the Maxima GXE/GLE vs SE have different bushings and struts along with those rear springs. I wound assume the T model would be the same as the SE setup.

I hate my turbines, but there good in the snow, so i cant complain, and i got nice chromies for the summer

 

I like my 96 BBS I30 rims. I admit I'm a fan of the mesh look.

I think 00+ I30T/I35 rims are the best looking ones out there.

 

From what research I did when I purchased mine, just the rear suspension is different, as noted above. Makes the car ride .2" higher.


I miss my stock rims. they were quiet.

 

I only like the M45 sport wheels, the G35 5 spokes, the i35 8 spokes, and the FX 20" out of all the wheels they ever made

m45 sport wheels ftw, i love the way they look, i have turbines for the winter but i find myself rarely putting them on, and when i do its for like a month then im like wow my car looks gross, so on go the 18's

 

I wish they were still on my car when I bought it.

 

Ditto on the ugliness of the turbines.
