This is what worked for me, and is the best way to screw them over... Tell them that you are going to be buying some of the replacement parts (like the headlights) and then buy them and them make a fake invoice with an inflated price so when you get reimbursed you get to keep the difference. Trust me, it works and I personally stuck it to those bastards at state farm and picked up a cool $300 profit in cash... which I used on a cattman y pipe!!

well...i was told that the damage cost will go up about another 1500-1800...and theres a current risk of them just calling my car "totalled"...geeze.

i might have to retire my position of an i30 owner....a lil depressing.

Some unknown party straight took out the bottom half of both my passenger doors, scratched up my wheel and rear bumper a bit... Total cost $2500 and I think that was a bit low too.

Body work is so expensive.

If it does, then it will probably be considered totalled. But for $6000, you could easily pick up another one... a 5spd this time.

Ok I hate to show my age but.... I have been in plenty of accidents. I had a lowered 85 nissan truck back in 95 that was totalled. I took the settlement and told them that I wanted the option to buy back the truck. They totalled the truck out and I got it back for 1000 dollars. This just allowed me to be able to take the rest of the settlement and (since it was totalled) I was able to do things that I never would have done before. I put an 89 Maxima front end on her... suicide doors with shaved handles and a nice sunroof.

Later... I had a 3 series BMW that I got hit in and did the same thing. It was a 91 and I did the buy back... bought a 96 and took all of my engine mods, stereo, interior mods and rims and moved them over to the new G-ride. Then parted out the wrecked car and made more money to pay for more mods. Since then I have moved on to the Infiniti line and I now have a 1991 240sx with HICAS as my toy and a 2001 Infiniti I30 is my baby.

The plan for next year M35... That car is so sweet!!!!!

Many guys have done this. If I ever wreck my car, I am sure as hell buying it back so I can harvest my mods back.

You put a 89 Maxima front end on a 85 nissan truck??

Yep,

My cousin had a body shop and he was looking for a way to get noticed. He took the nose off a totalled 89 maxima, put it on my 85 king cab and took the door skins off the front doors of the maxima and used them to make the body lines come together. I will look for some pictures and see if I can post them.

the only difference in the M45 and the M35 is the engine. I just dont know if I want the V8 with gas prices going up like they are and the way I drive already it might be too heavy on the pocketbook. I've already driven the V6 and its got plenty of get up and go. Either way I am dying to get one!!! The dealership is right down the street from my house and I have to pass those babys every day.

Normal street driving in my parent's old 02 Q45 (VK45) never passed 2000rpm, and it wasn't granny driving either...just normal stop and go. The V8 has so much torque and power, the Q actualy starts in 4th gear and shift to 5th at 2000rpm and you are already cruising city speed.

With how heavy the M is, 280hp on an auto tranny is not gonna cut it... at least for me... The V8 is definately needed. Dont get me wrong, I'm sure the M35 still is plenty fast most and is still an amazing machine.

I dont think the Q45 starts in 4th gear... even with its power, I could only imagine how slow that would be...

i cant even imagine why a car would start in 4th gear...what would be the use of the lower gears?

I've heard of cars starting out in 2nd, for a snow mode, but I'm gunna have to call on a 4th gear start. I've driven my buddy's parent's 02 Q and it was definately rowing through more than two gears

90-97 Toyota Land Cruiser has a button that allows you to start in 2nd, but a 4th gear start in a Q... Definately bullsh!t...
