I dont know from first hand experience, but I believe J30 brakes are 2 piston and larger than I30 brakes so there would be benefit to it.

Not 100%, not a stupid question though

Dunno, but off my head, I thought the J30 brakes are identical or simliar to the 300zx Non-Turbo Brakes.

Theyd probably fit with the same modifications it takes to get the Z brakes to fit. What do they look like?

If the J30 brake is single piston, there would be no benifit (unless it looks better). Hell, nissan is known for using interchangeable parts and it might even be the same caliper.

Are they painted black with the word "NISSAN" in white on them, like the 300z??

nope they are a different design, they actually seem "thinner" than the 300Z calipers; but still consist of 2 pistons

Seems it would be better to just use the 300z calipers then.

From what I remember Tilley telling me, the 300ZX TT's are 4 piston, and the J30's are 2 piston. Since our master brake cylinder is kinda weak, the J30 brakes actually perform better than the 4 piston ones due to operating efficiency.....or something like that.....I think they fit better too.....but brake pad selection is pretty poor....

the J30 would be a better idea than the 300Z since you need massive spacers for most wheels in order to clear the 300Z calipers

its just that i have no idea if they just bolt on, or need a relocation bracket for them to go on the A32

ahh yess very knowledgable indeed.... with the j30 pillars they would have more surface area... as well.. .. and i would just us yokobono.. or whatever ceramic pads... and get a decent rotor.... not drrilled or naythign cuase its hard to cut them etc... so.. if anyone else had more input like above.. please share..

I think that only applies to the TT calipers.

I was talking about the non TT brakes which I think are 2 piston (black with the white lettering of nissan while the TT ones look different from that). Since the J and the Z are extremely similar the thought had crossed my mind that the calipers might be the same... Although they both have 2 piston calipers, appearantly they look different.

So?!? Nissan makes infiniti. Every single part on the car says nissan... engine parts, interior parts, windows... all are covered in nissan or the nissan logo... why should the calipers be any different??

93-97 J30 and the 96-99 I30... I wouldnt be supprised if the calipers on the 00-04 I30/I35 were the same as the 96-99 I30s though...
