Anyone have Alpine Type R Components

anyone have them? my radio conked out AGAIN, so i am seriously considering an all new system. I heard that the type r's are really deep and i was wondering if any of you have gotten them.

I run a 10" Type R DVC sub. I am fairly impressed with the sound.

Do you have to change the entire system if you upgrade to a better cd player instead of the BOSE? I heard you have to change all the speakers if you swap out the cd player.

more or less, yes, there are ways to get around it by buying a special converter, but that requires alot of work, and well, nothing is better than the headunit made for that system. For all intensive purposes yes, it is best to buy a whole new system. I know people who have bought clarion headunits to replace it and have worked without a hitch, im not interested in spending money on a "maybe" situation

I was hoping I could just replace the head unit and put a few subs in the back and be done. I really dont want to spend hundreds of dollars just to be able to put a sub woofer in the car.

i have type r components, fits fine, cept you need to make a baffle because for some reason as the maxima owners know also, its not a direct fit

I have them. Components in the front and rear. You will need to make MDF speaker rings/baffles for the front doors. 3/4". The rears fit without modifications.

Get this in the audio forum. You will get more responses.

All you would need is a piece of mdf($20) and a jigsaw. Another option is to buy the plastic version from either BB or CC.

I just had an Alpine cd player installed and had to get an interface adapter for it to work properly. Has anyone experienced this or know anything about it? We are installing the rest of the system tomorrow which is 1 JL 12 and a JL amp.
