Congrats on the car...but what do you mean "i want it better than it is"? You mean start modding?

Well, it's automatic, so try a 5-speed conversion w/a maxima se tranny, so your car might actually move. Then go with a paradox systems body kit. JBL L7 12" subs, nice complimenting amp, upgrade the tweeters, and some component speakers.

For subtle upgrades, try 17" rims with some quality 225-50-17 or 235-45-17 tires (Dunlop SP Sport A2, Falken Ziex ZE-512, or BFG Traction T/A come to mind), lower it on Tein H-Tech springs or H&R springs and use Tokico Illumina struts (Or Tolico HP struts if you are on a budget). Add a generic Front strut tower bar from eBay and a "copycat" Stillen rear sway bar. The real Stillen is nice, but overpriced- you can get a direct copy on eBay for cheap.

I'm quite sure the side skirts for a 5th Gen Maxima will fit onto a 2000 Maxima.

As for whether they'll fit on an I30...I don't know. I'd say if the space between the wheel wells on the Max is the same as the space on the I30 that they'd fit.

Start by getting rid of those wheels that look like hubcaps. What was Infiniti thinking?

Yes, the sidemarkers should come on with the city lights and the headlights.

I've often wondered if Maxima sideskirts would fit our I's. I have been told that they would not fit for some reason, but I dont have any direct experience with them.

You can get the factory sport sideskirts from www.everythingnissan.com painted and all for like $450, and they look great.

So luxury cars can't have turbo kits or nitrous oxide or anything fun like that?? Might as well take advantage of that vlsd and show some mustangs how to run a quick e/t with style and class.

Why not take the O/D off before you get to 115 (or wherever you are in 4th @5000)

about 80-100mph pushing past hundred not done yet so i cant test out the real limits of the car so i dont know if its the tranny slipping or it could be the TB that could be stuck

That is wierd... the TB is easy to check, so I guess I'd do that first.

You can find the chromed ones on ebay with the whole wheel exchange program. Just do a search on I30 wheels.

Regarding the issue you described as "sputtering when accelerating", you should check your Mass Airflow Sensor. I had the same symptoms and replacing the MAF completely eliminated the problem.
