Now, before someone get's their panties in a bunch, I know this should be posted in the wheels and tires section, but I posted it there a few weeks ago and all I got was some links to www.tirerack.com and the like, so I wanted to post here and get info directly from the I30 guys.

I would like to upgrade my rims to 17 inch. I also want the MOST LIP I can put on a 96 I30. I would like either chrome or high polished silver as well.

can you guys please let me know some of my options for a 17 with a huge lip on it for my 96?

I don't think anyone's going to be able to pull that answer out of their azz for ya. What you'll have to do is get some ideas together and then get help with choosing from those choices. As is though your requests is too broad and then to top it off you're talking 17's with a huge lip. Sorry but that's just not common. Then what is a huge lip in your opinion? 1"? 1.5"? 3"? How wide do you want the wheels? What kind of style design are you going for?

 

u cant have small wheels with a huge lip it will look totally unproportionate on the I30. if u gunna do rims do 18's or 19's or just do regular 17's with a small lip nothing insane

I have gone the same path as you. I wanted 17 rims with HUGE LIPS but was NOT able to find one. So I settled with Borbet Type E (see photos below). Finally, there are something available and it's exactly what I wanted:

I stand corrected. I think that's about the best you're gonna do as far as large lip on some 17's. Still those wheels don't have the expensive look they should with those lips. If you want some class to your ride just buy my touring stockies from me. They're 17's that are forged and more importantly they're meant for our cars. I think I'd put the above wheels on a much smaller car personally. Or do like what was mentioned go up to 18's or 19's. 19's look better than 18's, but the cost of tires could outweigh that depending on your preferences.

NO, I do not have any tail-light trims for sale. The only set is on my gf's car. I only have the red/clear tailight which is perfect fit for 96-97 Infiniti I30's (same set that i30ds has on his car).
