Power antenna replacement
Pretty simple to replace. You need to go into your trunk and pull back the sidewall liner. In order to do this, you will need to pop out the plastic plugs that hold the sidewall liner on. Once you pull this back, you will see the antenna and the wires. I believe you can just unplug the wires and plug the new wires in.
As for getting the old antenna mast out, if I remember correctly, there is a nut inside the trunk up near where the antenna goes out of the car.
I would not buy this from the dealer. I think you can buy them from almost any car parts store and you can also find them on ebay. The dealer will just rip you off.
If I can, I will try and take some pictures of this install for you this weekend and email them to you. It is pretty simple to replace though.

LOL yeah, forget that! And that was probably just labor! lol I used to work at Honda doing detailing a long time ago and needed a replacement power antenna for my Accord, and the part was $65 or something but with my employee discount it was like $18! WTF? How crazy!
if ur just replacing the mast, you are lucky, mine broke and i couldnt get the mast out, i now have to buy the whole antenna assembly, 250 or so from the dealer, like 150 or so online, and thi is a direct replacement.
Dont bother with the metra parts, not worth it

If you need the whole thingy, look at this used antenna+motor that I found on eBay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1998-...spagenameZWD1V
I had the same problem as you, and I couldn't get remove the "sleeve" for the antenna, from the motor. I bought a new antenna+wire (not the motor), but since I couldn't remove the old sleeve, I therefore couldn't attatch the new antenna..
So; the solution for me, was to inherit an antenna+motor from my friends Skyline r33, and the only thing I had to use from my own parts, was the support-bracket, and the parts where the antenna goes through the vehicle body. (because the antenna is on the opposite side on the Skyline...)

I know that it is a looong time since you first asked about dismantling the antenna, but if you haven't already done it; here is a little "how to":
The "nut" mentioned by dr.Monkey, isn't inside the trunk.
The chrome-ring in this picture is the nut, and must be unscrewed from the top:

After this, there is a bracket inside the "wall" of the trunk, about where the jack is placed. It has two bolts.
(I also removed the jack-bracket, but I'm not sure if that was needed.)
Then you can unplug the antenna-cable, and the electric-cable plug, and pull off the drain-tube in the bottom of the antenna-motor. You should now have the complete antenna-motor-thingy free of all attatchments, and you can start to dismantle this, and remove the old antenna+nylon-wire, and install the new antenna. This part of the replacement-job is not too difficult, and I guess I don't need to guide anyone any further...
