Finally upgraded to I35 grill (pics)

After months of research for grill options for my 2000 I30 T, I decided to get an I35 grill. I havn't been able to upload them to my cardomain page so here they are.

Grill removed

After (pic2)

Not sure if im gonna be doing too much modifying... maybe foglight bulbs...maybe clear sidemarkers. The grill change was the most important mod for me.

Looks really nice! I did the same thing to my I30 a couple months ago. It really does make a huge difference.

Just a quick question...

When you were changing grilles, did you see any rust on the edges of the hood?

Thanks,

Omar

Yes, lol. It's decent, but the I35 grill just commands so much more attn and just fits the car better IMO.
Nice mod, I definitely have to do this.

I did notice one small speck of rust near the edge of the hood. This is probably because of paint chipping from rocks and other debri slamming into the front. There was a little rust in the middle lower part of the housing of the hood edge. This is probably due to excessive water deposits. I don't think its anything to be alarmed about though.

Okay cool...I have the same rust spot near my grille. You can only see it if you opent he hood and try to look for it.

you can always check salvage yards and ebay... but its very hard to find...and if you do, it might be 50 bucks, or 100 bucks cheaper. I waited and searched for months and found nothing, until settling for the 200 buck ripoff.

I hear ya'. I picked mine up on Ebay for a little over $100. Keep your eyes on Ebay and the salvage yards.

I was thinking of doing this before. It might look a little nicer. but regardless, the I30 grill frame is much thinner and unevenly distributed than the I35. The I35 grill has a more even distribution of frame widths and dimensions, which is why most people see it as better looking than the I30 grill.

If you cant find an I35 grill for cheap, and dont wanna bite the bullet for 200 bucks, I guess the only option is to modify the I30 grill.

I cant imagine the I30 grill looking any uglier...except if it was broken or cracked or something, so I guess whatever modifications you do to it would make it look better.
