stoplight switch

anybody have any idea or know where i can find a write up on how to change my stoplight switch. i can see it and how it works but i dont see an easy way of removing the part. the stoplight switch is an electrical part that has a button that releases when you press the brake to unlock the gear shift, just in case you have no idea what i am talking about! i guess a repair manual would do but i am in mexico so any help/ideas/suggestions would be appreciated.

Just undo the connector and screw it out. Thats all I had to do when mine went out last year. It takes five minutes.

did u have a problem with your connector adapters matching? i just received a new stoplight switch from an online infiniti parts site and the plug is different from the one i am replacing. any ideas? it seems like the adapters come off but they arent coming off easily as if they are supposed to...and even then, the space between the plugs on my new part seem further apart than the plug prongs on the old part. help me out.

Sorry, I didn't see this. It looks like maybe you got the wrong switch then. You should just be able to plug the new one right in. Make sure that you are trying to put the new stop light swich on the stop light connector NOT the cruise control connector which is right next to it. The two switches look the same but the connectors might not be the same.
