Quick question on hail & insurance

I guess folks from Chicagoland rememebr the hail storm two or three weeks ago. My car as usual was outside and I observed couple of dings on the body coz of the hail. I have comprehensive coverage with $250 deductible. Just wondering if the insurance premium will go up if I claim insurance to get the hail damage repaired ?? How do u guys manage such damage ?

My friend tells me tht insurance rate won't go up for damages due to these natural things ... his insurance paid him $500 but he didn't ask his insurance company if the premium would go up.

thanks

Unless you've made a lot of claims in the past I doubt your rates will go up. This is a no-fault scenario.

Of course, the easy way to find out would be to call and ask your insurance agent.
