Ha! I kinda like 'em.

Makes me tempted to put them on mine, but I already painted those and put decals on them so it'd be kind of a waste.

And about hurricane season...I guess I'm finally about to get a taste myself.

<-- Moving to New Orleans in the Fall.

Hahaha

Alcohol + car mods = bad idea

Last time I did my suspension I sat there with this bewildered look on my face for about 10 minutes just staring, trying to figure out how the brake line brackets switched sides on me before I figured out that I'd mixed up the struts (left to right).

At that point I figured I'd better lay off the beer.

Kings you should have known better than to mess with the red label. You should have been drinking black or blue label on the rocks or with coconut water. hint hint. (father in-law got me hooked).

Anyway, I luv the caliper covers. Where did you get them?? I just installed my slotted rotors and Ultimate pads yesterday. Everything looks so shiney, I just need to get rid of the ugly color calipers. Aftermarket wheels + shiney zinc plated slotted or xdrilled rotors = HOTNESS!

hey Lee. long time no see. how's life with them trini people doing? thanks . i got the calipers from a dude here in tampa. he sells on ebay. when i saw his location i contacted him directly and worked out things locally. i have to tell you they were expensive, especially the carbon fiber, but i have no wife or no GF to ***** to me about how much money i spend on the car. LOL.
i wanted something different from the painted caliper thing, everybody is doing that. this looks more clean and even, and from a distance it looks like the car has no calipers, really weird sight to get used to. i took them for a long drive long drive about 9 hours after putting them on and they help up pretty good. i was scared because they use 2sided tape to attach to the calipers, but nothing fell off. my friend jerry plans to remove them and re-attach them using some kind of epoxy.
i'm waiting on my next mod to be completed. i got customlightz to retrofit a set off projectors from a Lexus LS 430 into my headlamps. was going to go with the Q45 lenses, but decided i like the LS projectors output better.
if anybody wants the Q projectors they're for sale.

here's a link to the guys ebay store, look under the "brake performance" section.

here's the seller i got the infiniti symbol from:
http://motors.search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZbadge168

unfortunately the guy i got the 'infiniti" script from is no longer registered.

That's where I got my caliper decals from. I just ended up using the logo and not the lettering though.

Some folks in the 5th gen forum have posted pics where the rotors developed stress cracks.

You'll probably be fine with XD rotors, but the risk is potentially there. If you're planning on buying new rotors and aren't getting blanks, go with slotted or dimpled (or both) and you won't have to worry about stress cracks.

haven't had any probs yet. have had them for about 1 yr. didn't find out about the probs the 5th gen guys were having till after i bought them, otherwise i'd have gone with the suggestion Meta made above.

I have CDS slotted rotors over two years old and show no signs of having to be replaced any time soon. They look as good as the day I put them on, no abnormal wear or stress cracks, with axxis ultimate pads.

Cracking was related to drilled rotors.

There's no reason why your slotted ones should have had any problems.

Hey Kings -

I am doing great, I have been really busy. I am venturing into getting my g35 hooked up. I been browsing the forums over there so, I can get a new suspension setup (350z track suspension) and some new wheels for the summer. I think I am going to take a break from the I35 since I recently got a call from Infiniti about the new 07 G35. I know this is going to go against my BMW and MB morals but, I was talking to the GM of Jim Coleman Infiniti, and I might be getting into one of the first G35 sedans in MD if the specs and all of the hype is correct. The deal is though, I will be trading in the I35 and I will have to take everything off my car except the ST-R pieces, they like those. I think I am done for mods unless the 07 G35 6 speed specs don't impress me. I really want a car with a standard transmission (manual), and for the past week my brother has been away and I have been driving his tsx 6spd and I luv it. It has no where near the power I have in my I35 but, just going through 6 gears and down shifting + rolling back and forth at a traffic light is great.

Anyway I am still around, I have done a few things to my car since I last posted pics like new roll edged flowmaster muffler tips, painted front grille to match body color (except the infiniti emblem) and new brakes + rotors. I'll post pics next week when the paint cures and I put about 50 coats of blackfire polish on.

OT: Hey I am heading out for the diwali festival in october for 2 weeks. Supposedly my fiance hindu side of the family needs to bless my fiance and I before we get married. Should be interesting. I will be in San Fernando most of the time and Port of Spain to hangout with her cousins. I so want to check out the new Movie Centre in Port of Spain. I heard they got a Ruby Tuesday's and Dave & Buster type of place there now.

dude you're going to love the diwali festival. they cook all kinds off great indian food and sweets( your teeth are going to fall out), and the lights, man your going to love the lights. as for the wedding blessing, they will probably have a priest do a smaller version off the marriage ceremony, he may or may have the both off you walk around the wedding pyre. nothing to worry about. what you need is a full blown hindu wedding. with the food, dancing, crying, etc.
when you're in San Fernando have them take you a restaurant called "great wok", it's in the "imperial plaza" on high street. that's my uncle's place. if you see a older lady running the register, tell her you heard about the place from her family in FL.
i heard the movie centre is pretty nice, the ruby tuesday needs to step up on their service and the prices are kinda high. you need to check out the beaches too. all in all you should have a pretty good time, hope you enjoy the trip.
