Got Changer, Need Help 98 i30
Hello folks,
I recently bought a 6disc changer for my 98 I30 and want to install it under the passenger seat. http://www.infiniti-parts.com/installation/clarion.htm stated that you cant install it under the seat with dual power seats. However, I know that the i30 limited have dual power seats with the changer under it. Any ideas? Pics would be wonderful.

well okay there are several routes you can take..well actually 2....
under the seat i paid a custom audio shop 20$ to make a braket and mout it to the seat so it moves with the seat.... i di this cause im finishing up the OEM navi install and i had ot use the single din bose headunit iwth only tape a nd cd changer controls.. thus i put under hte seat cause the able was cut short at junkyard but perfect size for under pass seat and i woudlnt have to go to the trunk each time... but soon i might just move it to the rear... cause im getting tierd of it..
now since you probably have the Cd player in ur dash.... why not just put it in the trunk... its already prewired... so jsut plug it in.. and make a braket form homedepot and put it int he trunk... i mean thats the logical thing to do..

I tried to find the wires in the trunk but can't. I checked both sides, only found antenna and light power wires in different sides. In any case, I'll find out if it's prewired when I take the stereo out. But what was the disadvantage to having under seat? Does it rub the floor?

Thanks for replies guys, I installed it under seat (in front of the seat motor) flush against the seat, no problems. Mine's not oem either, but its exactly the same dimensions (different mounting brackets) and plugs in w/o cable cutting. Took about 1 1/2 hours to install which includes pulling up the carpet, the seat, and the stereo. Pretty easy in my opinion.

Could you , if you have time, send me a pm or email on how you did this install, I would like to do the same but I am not familiar with Nissa/infinit. I am a former acura guy who found a better car in my I30t! Nissan from now on! Thanks.

I bought the factory 6 cd changer and install kit from Courtesy Nissan for about $175 shipped. It came with a 20 foot cable that ran from the trunk to the back of the bose, self tapping screws, bracket, and a template to show where to install in the trunk. The bose radio controls the cd changer. Works perfect, factory looks, and took me about an hour.

heh I paid $50 shipped for my usa-spec scd-n66, didn't come with any useful directions except for the wiring diagram which shows how to plug the harness to the back of the bose. 16' cable brand new, works just like stock

Hi, folks, mine is a 96 I30. The factory CD player does not work (can't read properly). Can I just install a CD changer? Currently I have to use a cassette adapter to play Ipod music. It is not that satisfactory. Thanks!

Cd ERR
hey all. i've got an i30t and the cd player is...well, moody to say the least. i stick a cd in, and it tries to read it for about 10 seconds, spits it out and displays "Cd ERR". i have done a little research as to what it might be, and they're all saying to resolder some resistor or something. i have tried the laser cleaner discs, but they don't help. after a while of trying to figure out why it won't read my cd's...i decided to check something. it doesn't even spin the cd when i put it in, as in it tries to read a cd that's not spinning, and that's why it says ERR. what the hell can i do to fix this, aside from taking apart my HU and resoldering a bunch of crap???
