cai question

i tried to use the search button but it won't allow me to. here's my question. i have a 97 i30 and found some cais on ebay. first..are these even of good quality? i get nervous when ordering performance parts from ebay. second. i found one that says its for the i30 http://search.ebay.com/cefiro_W0QQfr...opZ3QQsbrsrtZl if you look at the nipple, it only has 1 outlet. this one that says its for the maxima http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Nissa...06591611QQrdZ1 has 3 nipples on it.

i thought the maxima and the i30s were the same. does anyone know which one i should get?

i'm not too crazy about buying things from ebay. anything. also, make sure you're buying for the right year...i's and max's are mechanically identical, but only 1995-1999 max's will match up with our i30's
p.s. 141 hp, ka24de? in your i30?? why???

Alternator, MAF, ignition coils, and o2 sensors are the most common problem's I've read from others, but I've only experienced the alternator hiccup so far, most of which can be fixed by yourself. Infinitis are great, it's on par with Lexus, and better than Acura in my opinion.

Why don't you just buy a QUALITY intake from either JWT or Stillen, something with a velocity stack, instead of this cheap ebay crap?

The intake piece should have 3 nipples on it. 2 large and one really small one. I don't know what that hole is on the intake though... that should not be there.

Thanks alot. I agree Infiniti's are great cars, both me and my brother have been Nissan/Infiniti advocates for over 5 years now. I have a 300ZX as well as he, hes on his 3rd Z. As far as the performance aspect goes for these cars what would be a likely 1/4 time for a stock I35? I would assume around a 15.0. Also how well does this VQ35 respond to mods compared to the G35 and 350Zs. Any information/links you can give me about this car or its paticulars would be great. Thanks

There's a lot more modding info in the 5th gen Max forum, I would say 99%? of performance mods on a 5.5th gen Max can be applied to the I35s.
