I tried searching but couldn't find anything.

Lately but not every time I go to unlock my doors to put son in the backseat I've noticed that my passenger side door doesn't unlock all the way. I can't figure it out.

Any ideas on what it could be?

 

The plastic or foam on the inside of the door is interfering the lock linkage. Remove some of the plastic and foam.

 

The same thing was happening to my 98 I30. The right back door wouldn't unlock all the way so I had to open the driver's door and reach around to the passenger door to unlock it manually. It usually only happened when it was hot too. I guess it's a design flaw. However, I now own a 2000 I30t.

 

Yes, but its easy to fix.

Pull panel, rip off foam cube, cut away thin plastic on door, put panel back on.
