I've Never Seen This Before!

I was searching around autotrader for an I30 stick and came across this 1998 I that just seemed odd. First, notice the front bumper that has a center grill in it very different from stock. Second, notice the grille indentation in the front bumper. and THIRD, the one that really made me question the where abouts and history of the vehicle, the fact that it had the correct spots for USDM turning lights and foglights. I just can't figure out what the hell this bumper is! Either its a really good body work mod or something else. I've seen all sorts of bumpers on different cars, like an integra bumper on a camaro but i cna't get over how real and original this one looks and thats what has drawn me too it. Hope you guys find this as interesting.

AND LAST, I just noticed this. The license plate indentation has a JDM long license plate pattern to it therefore this is probably a JDM bumper. Interesting, JDM bumper in america on a seemingly stock car.

"oh crap, hey ron, this stupid bumper that you ordered.......the lights don't fit, you must need the jdm ones"

"whatever, just sell the thing without 'em, let the person who buys it figure that one out on there own"

looks like its a really good body work mod. i guess, but that would have been a total watse of time or but maybe the car is originally from Canada or sumthing.

I have a 96 touring and that looks exactly like my front bumper. Except now its broken because of bottoming out in 2 feet of snow.
