I35 eyelids

I've had some molded ABS plastic eyelids made for the A33 I30/I35. I'm hoping that this will help add to the list of products available specifically for the I35. They're $45 shipped. They're available from the site (www.paradox-systems.com)

When I get them I'll mock 'em up on the car and shoot some pics, though I think I might hold off on actually installing them until I get my other set of headlights done.

So...you can at least see them on a black car..

They would look sweet on a black car since they are smoked. I need a pic on a light car to see how they blend end with the lighter paint. It might look weird on my car since I did not smoke my headlights when i cleared them.

Hey, you mentioned other headlights? Got anything in the works for OEM?

Yeah, if I had your paint I'd probably paint it to match. I might can get away with it being flat black, but if I like them I'll probably go ahead and get them painted KH3 too.

Cant wait to see pics of these things. I made some of my own eyelids a couple years back which arched over both of the reflectors. Unfortunately I never got around to painting them.

Hey Mojo, would you ever consider making the A33 Half window spoiler in CF like the 6th gen? I would definitely be interested in that.

I'm glad people are excited about this. This item is brand new so unfortunately I don't have any installed pics. It would be best to have these painted to match the car, I guess having them on a black car unpainted would work but won't be a perfect match.

With the price of CF and the minimum involved in making products, its hard for me to justify making them. I'd have to get at least 15-20 pre-orders to get something like that to happen, at a reasonable price.

Haha! I think I told you a couple years ago I'd buy eyelids if you made 'em.

BTW - just got the shipment notification. Thanks!

You probably did, just haven't had the (affordable) resources until now. Your package was dropped off at the post office this morning, should arrive in a few days.

Thanks

Just got the eyelids...they look GREAT. At first glance they kinda make the car look angry, LOL.

I'll pull the car out of the garage a little bit later and snap some pics.

Snapped a few pics:

Couple more (LARGER) photos found here:

http://picasaweb.google.com/metaorbit/Eyelids

Keep in mind, they're unpainted, and not taped down, I just press-fit them on there. But the fit is pretty good, and I definitely like the way they look.

Looks great! But they seem so subtle it is hard to tell, which can be good too.

Can you take a closer shot of the eye-lids for me please. Like three feet back.

You can view larger, close up pics by clicking the Google Album link.

Choose the photo you want, then click the "zoom in" button at the upper right of the image (looks like a magnifying glass).

Here's one (you can view them even larger at the album site):

meta- I am a noob when it comes to headlights. Do the lids block any of the beam patterns from the OEM headlights?

Haven't put them on the OEM lights yet, but I could see where it might affect the low-beam if it blocks light coming from the upper part of the reflector.

That's just a guess though...I'll have to wait until I can put them on there and see.

Thanks for the close-up pix. This is now a must do for me! If we could get them to droop down in between the high and low's it would be perfect!

I dunno, maybe I should just make my own again and get them painted... Unfortunately they would not be ABS though. Aaarrrgg... Decisions, decisions.

Meta - I'm glad you like how the eyelids turned out. Do you think I can use some of your pics for the site? They definitely look great on your car..

Thanks

I am so ready to make a purchase. I am just curious about the beam pattern. We already have poor OEM beam pattern, I just want to make sure that I don't loose any of the beam until "You" finish the OEM projectors.

Thanks for making them available. As for the pics...go right ahead.

until "You" finish the OEM projectors.
Hopefully sooner rather than later. Though, I'll have this set of lights up for sale (one my others are done) if anyone's interested...

I actually responded to him.

My post count will continue to stay low as long as the same damn questions get posted over and over again.

From what I see they look high enough not to disturb beam pattern much, if at all. Maybe high-beam a bit, but I doubt it would be noticeable

Yeah, Meta if you got the free time would it be possible to take 1 or 2 night pics...I'm also curious on how the inner halos look b/c of the eyelids.

I know I've seen BMW's with Eyelids before, but I can't remember how they looked or if the halos were even cut off a little bit or not.

Headlights are off the car at the moment...but I'll see if I can't hook it up in the engine bay and snap some pics in the garage with the lights out.
