SES light - 02 i35

I tried the procedure for the 5th gen maximas to reset the ecu, and couldn't get it to work.

-Ignition off, gas pedal released
-Ignition on wait 3 seconds
-Ignition on/off 5 times in 5 seconds
-Gas pedal to floor
-Release gas pedal
-Wait 7 seconds
-Gas pedal to the floor & hold for 10 seconds

The SES light never blinks.

Am I missing something?

Ignition position is the 3rd notch correct? Where the dash lights light up?

When performing that procedure, make sure the car is at operating temp.

God damn... If I had to go through that amount of bullsh!t to check the codes, I'd just buy an OBDII reader and be done with it.

It's easy to get the hang of, and one can learn to do it w/o a stopwatch w/ enough practice (2-3x). BUT the codes are pain to decipher. Not nearly as easy as reading A32 codes. The blinks are in succession (1 long/2sort of long/3longer ) vs. 1 short/1 long etc.
