I bought my 01 I30 in Feb. of this year, obviously used. I bought the car from one of those used car lots, and not an Infiniti dealership. I was offered a warranty by them from an outside firm, which I accepted. But last month I recieved a letter from Infiniti stating that I could renew my warranty. I ingored it and let the deadline pass to respond, but now I just recieved a final notice to renew it.

I have never heard of this before, especially being that I didn't buy the car from an Infiniti dealership. If it is ligitimate I would like to switch to this one if it covers more than the current warranty that I have which only covers major things. I just wanted to know if anybody else has this warranty or ever even heard of it?

I would go to my local infiniti dealer and ask about it.
Make sure the letter is from Infiniti and not some "outside firm" trying to ripp you off.

I wouldn't get it in any case. Chances are you won't get any benefit from it, even when faced with minor repairs that only "might" be covered.

Yeah I kind of figured. Plus why would Infiniti go out of their way to send me a final notice and extend a deadline just so they can renew a warranty.

It is probably an extended warranty, just make sure it is from Infiniti and not 3rd party. I personally get it, then you can bring the car in anytime for any small rattle or fix and get a loaner to enjoy.

hmmmmmmmm.........didn't think about the loaner! I think I may have to call them tomorrow. But I would probably I have to pay extra for the loaner, but it may be worth it, gives me a reason to drive a new G for a day, or maybe an M. Definately calling tomorrow!

I don't know about other dealers, but whenever I take my car in to my local Infiniti dealer they always give me a free loaner, no matter what. Heck I even once got a 2003 M45 to drive when I brought in my old 1995 G20t (which had 150K on it at the time) for some maintenance (this was back in '03 when I was well under 21 years old).
