Finally installed.. Cattman Y(w/ Sound clips), Ksports, Apexi intake(pics)
I've been meaning to take the time to get some pics and videos uploaded, and now the time has come. Over the last 2 months or so, I finally installed my Cattman Y, Berk intake w/ Apexi filter, and the new Ksports. Also, the videos are for those of you who'd like to know what the Superturbo mufflers sound like.
Ksports I got a great deal on at 720 shipped for the whole set brand new.
Cattman Y was regular price, as well as the intake.
Here are some pics:

Sorry no pics of the intake yet, but everyone knows what they look like, so...
And the links to the vids:

wow!! Love the drop, yours is even lower than mine. I was going to do the K-sports but I am not swapping out suspension now.
Wheels are to each is own. You like chrome, others like non-chrome. I perfer non-blingy. Everything looks nice!!

Got the Apex intake from Berk Technology.

And just if anyone was interested...
I be;lieve my drop is about 2.4"F and 1.8"R. I had some issues with rubbing in the rear, so I left it a little higher.

Absolutely love it. Not as harsh as I thought. Usual comments everyone say. "handles like on rails." "very responsive." Back end still feels a lil loose. Nothing a RSB cant fix. Ksports are 36-way adjustable dampers. front are set to 19. rear is 25.
Drawbacks:
Any drop beyond 2.4"F causes some sluggishness in the steering. Seems more difficult to turn wheel. Rubbing issues when hitting bumps when rear is dropped more than the 1.7ish". I still rub very rarely right now, but I think the ride looks even, and, mainly, I just dont feel like crawling under the car to change it. And nothing to do with the Ksports... but I cant get the damper adjustment tool into the back struts because of the metal reinforcers surrounding it. I would have to unbolt the suspension's top mounts and let the axle fall to put them in.
I cross-threaded the front flange on the Y-pipe, so I had to take it back off, drill out the threads, and use a new bolt and nut.
The K-sports were 10X easier that regular struts. Only issue was when I took off the driver's front strut, I tapped the bolt out of the knuckle, only to have the strut shoot straight down onto my rubber axle boot(thankfully didnt rip it). I didnt think I'd need a strut compressor, so I had to run up to the store to rent one, cus that thing was pushin down with some serious force. Using one of the strut compressors when the strut is still 90% on the car is NOT fun.
TOTAL TIME w/ unexpected problems:
5-6 Hours

Was everything relatively easy to install?

Excellent pics and writeup. I just raised up my i30 today due to massive suspension problems. Looks like the front struts are worn down to the bone (boot ripped up and oil all over the place) Sadly the ride on this car is like ****. Scares my young passengers on the way home from school. Now, im shopping for new struts and will have a local mechanic swap it out asap. Any suggestions on where to get some nice aftermarket struts . . and brakes! (Looking for suspension that will put the luxury part back next to I30) Other than that, great work and I look forward to any future mods on your car.
